100 pound victory of my own!
I have to admit a spark of jealously with all this talk about 100 pound weight losses and people who have dropped a lot more weight than I since surgery, so in true social worker fashion I
am re-framing my thinking. I not have less that 100 pounds to lose to reach my goal. I am now down (almost) 40 pounds (38.6) and am less (barely) than 100 pounds away from my goal. I have been on a plateau for several weeks now and I have been feeling discouraged. Well yesterday I cut the lawn for 3 hours and decided to weigh myself and over the course of the day my body changed it's mind about hanging on the the fat and I dropped almost 3 pounds. I could feel that I was losing but the scale was not doing down. It has been bouncing up and down and all around the same weight. Yesterday that finally changed. I have reached my next goal. as stated in the "getting to know you" topic. I am below 250 pounds!! Finally. I thought I would have reach this weight weeks ago, but as long as things are going in the right direction , I will just have to be happy with the speed I am losing.
So for today, color me happy to be losing not gaining and trying not to compare myself to others. I am celebrating the victories and trying not to beat myself up in between!

you need to fast for 4 hours or something before the fill. AFter the fill it's 2 days of mixed liquids, 2 days of mushies and back to normal.

charline, there is no need to be jealous. I started losing a whole year before your did. I started in February '08 and you in February '09. That is nothing to be jealous of. I've only lost 48 since my surgery in October and you lost 40 since February. Stop with that thinking. Everyone is different. I'm not losing that fast...everyone is catching up to me. your day will come.
I know you are just expressing how you are feeling, but just be proud of what you have done so far.
Think positive and stop comparing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was just being honest. I am also very glad for everyone having success. I have only lost 8 pounds since surgery. I am convinced that I have lost more fat weight than that, but that's what the scales say. I have lost just under 39 pound since last November. I was having more "pound " success without the surgery. However, I would have given up by now without the surgery.
Charline, I only wish I could be losing as fast as you, or at all for that matter. You see, no matter how you think you're doing, there is always someone doing worse as well as doing better so why then do we only notice the ones doing better? We are all different and will all be affected by the band differently. We have our own pace. Don't compare yourself to others but only use others for inspiration. I personally use you as my inspiration since you were right ahead of me, timewise. It's funny, you think you're not doing so great and someone out there thinks you're doing great enough to inspire. Think about that. You're obviously doing something right. Keep on inspiring. Starr
Charline you are doing great. Just think of all the people who can't even think about having WLS surgery because of health or ignorance. You are a wonderful caring person who is now working very hard with a great weight loss tool to help you loss weight. Yes you have lost weight and soon enough you well reach your goal! Just think where you would be without your band and keep working hard at loosing.
