The Fill - the truth - 'cause you need to know.
I certainly don't want anyone to think that this was a horrible experience. Yes it hurt, but not like childbirth or a laceration or anything. I feel bruisy in that area and it hurts to press on it like it hurts to press on a bruise. And they had to press a lot but I did not cry or anything. I made a lot of faces though. You know all squinty eyes and a bit of moaning for effect (not really just kidding). If my port plays hide and seek every time I go for a fill I will not mind. I can handle it no probs.
I just want all of you to know my experience - what I see, what I feel. This is not something that is for the faint of heart. Sometimes I wish I had not gotten too old for the RNY while I was waiting for my consult but then I read what others have gone through the dehydration, the dumping, the pain and I think NO, I am so glad I got the band. Yes I have to have fills every few weeks for a while but that is a small inconvenience like Wednesday was compared to the fact that this morning I am at an all time low in weight and I feel FABULOUS DAH-LINK JUST FABULOUS!!!!!
And that was Dr. Savoie? - yummy. I think having good looking doctors helps this process along even better. When I told Dr. Beau that I feel amazing and that I am so glad for having the surgery and that he has been my lifesaver, his smile and the light in his eyes was worth all the other stuff and then some.
So waiting bandsters just know that some fills will be uncomfortable and inconvenient but so well worth it.

Glad you survived your fill ann. LOL I was a nurse but I still HATE needles and I could not stand to go through that experience every few weeks. I know me, I simply wouldn't go after awhile. That's just me.
I am glad i had RnY for that very reason and one or two more. The post op pain lasted 2 days and by day 3 I toof 2 tylenol regular strength in the morning and that was it.
Dumping helps me not eat foods I shouldn't eat. I don't think Deb has had a dumping episode yet. She is almost 1 year out. Not everyone dumps only 10 % I think. I can eat whatever I want (except pork chops, chicken, milk ), in very small amounts and that is usually all it takes to satisfy a craving.
I have no desire for ice cream or really sweet stuff. That's a good thing. Last night I had a handful of potato chips. A handful not a bag. That satisfied me. It was enough. If I had eaten a whole small bag, I may have dumped. Keeps one honest. LOL
Good luck with your next fill. I'd be crapping in my shoes even thinking about it.
