I'm really new at this and a little intimidated
Hi All,
I've been lurking around this forum for a few months now as I have been waiting for news about my surgery. My GP referred me around this time last year. I was invited to an information meeting on October 31/08, saw Diane (nurse practioner) and nutritionist in March 09, had a conversation with the psychologist last month and saw Dr. Ellsmere yesterday. I have been approved and his secretary, Diane thinks she'll be calling me next week with a date for surgery, which she thinks will be sometime in June. My whole mood has changed. I kept thinking it would be months, maybe years, so I was getting really discouraged, but now I feel really hopeful.
Everyone sounds so supportive on this site and I know I'll be asking a million and one questions and participating as much as I can now that my first post is done.....like all things, the first step is the most difficult, isn't it. I can't wait to meet some of you in person. I live just outside of Dartmouth, NS and work downtown Halifax so I travel everyday.
My signature says it all, I'm one lucky girl, but my name is Sandra. I can't hardly believe that maybe I will finally be able to lose this wweght that I've dragged around for so many years. I look forward to sharing the journey with many of you.

Welcome Sandra. I'm Maggie from N.B. I am frequently grumpy but I come here often and have huge ears and will help i able. It seems we slowly lose a few souls so it's good to have a soul or two join us. Glad you came. Come back often.
