Dr. S Update

Hellew.

I had to call Bathurst re: I question I had, and while I had her on the phone I asked her the dreaded question regarding wait time for folks who had their initial consult near the end of October.  She told me that there are about 20-25 people not yet booked from earlier October.  Ahhh, what a difference a mere week makes!

Anyway, she reiterated that she *hopes* it will be at least August when she gets to the second half of October.

While I am disappointed, I understand and I will be patient.  I know that the summer is out, and that I can hope for the fall.  I just like to be able to somewhat plan, you know?

Anyway, there it is, in case anyone was interested.

Hi Anita!

I asked the lady that works behind me who is seeing Dr. S on June 15th when her  original consult was and she told me she had her consult a week after me (same day as Amary).

She told me Jackie told her that she would not get surgery until August even if she is seeing the Dr on June 15th since he was on vacation in July and will not be doing surgeries that month.

Hi,

Anitalynn, you and I had our consults on the same day, and they gave me basically the same information last week - that my 2nd consult would be either in August or in September. She mentioned something about me being 15th on a the list, but I'm not sure if that's 15 in terms of waiting, or 15 in terms of that consult day, or if Jackie just really likes the number 15 and felt like saying it.

What gets me is that did Dr. Savoie really see that many people on the first 2 days of his office consults? I know that I saw him for an hour, and there was no one waiting after me when I got out of his office, and I was a late-ish afternoon appointment. You'd think that he would book everyone for an hour or 45 minutes, so the most he could see would be 7-8 per day? Unless he saw people before October, I'm just not sure where they are getting the numbers. But I'm also bad at Math so...

Nougat (seriously, what is your name again - I'm so awful at names, but I can't keep calling you Nougat with a straight face :),

This is what confuses me.  I mean, I'm fully aware that not everyone who went to see him visits this board, but just the same, didn't we see him on his second week?  I wasn't aware that he did consults on Tuesdays AND Thursdays...I thought it was just Thursdays.  I (mistakenly, obviously) figured he saw maybe 30 people all tolled by the time he had seen us.

Well, WHATEVER.  At this point I'm just talking about it for the sake of talking about it.  It's nice to know that there are other people in my boat - even though this boat sucks.

Monica - sounds like your co-worker squeeeeeezed in at the last moment for her second consult.  How will she know when to start  her fast?  I imagine they'll call her at least 2 weeks prior to the date to let her know when they've booked her.

DS on 03/14/13

When Jackie called me, she said on June 1, i will meet with the nutritionist, nurse and DR.  I will also sign my consent forms on that day.

Based on the folks that went in May...I have my fingers crossed that I will also get my surg date too.

I'm a nosy person, so I will be asking questions, till Dr S kicks me out!

Different hospitals do things differently but here in Freddy and in Moncton, the surgery schedule only comes out around the middle of the month for the following month. Your blood work is 3 weeks pre-op- one week before you start the liquid diet.

You can call me Nougie *inserts waggly eyebrow emoticon here*! Seriously though, my first name is Kim. :-)

Did Dr Savoie see patients on Tuesdays and Thursdays? I didn't know that, but it makes much more sense with the numbers though if he did.

It's definitely nice to know that there are people in the same boat and that we can come here to talk about it. I swear to god, that I wouldn't have any news if it wasn't for this board!

If you need me, I'll be curled in a fetal postion in the corner. The valium aren't working this week. *fumes*

I thought at one time they said all Dr.Savoie had was 50 patients I thought that was first consults and his new patients?

I give up on trying to figure this out

Talk to you soon Stephanie

I think that was a guess based on 1 consult day per week and X number of patients per day. The X was based on how long people here spent with him and a guess at the office hours.

I only had my consult on Nov. 20th, so I'm not gonna expect anything until October.
