Things are better than I think
I just opened a letter from Manitoba Health Care and they approved my visit and transportation to Dr.Savoie so I am covered and I should not have to worry about getting a loan to do this
yahoo. This has been one of my worries for awhile. Now I just wait to hear from the clinic for my
appointment in the fall.

Happy for you!! I recieved mine few months ago. What a pain I thought when I read you must pay for your own flights (last I checked AIR CANADA only goes to Bathhurst)then submit reciepts to get some monies after you return. They cover cheapest flights minus taxes, fees. you also need to apply for travel each time. I'm glad just being able to go to Bathhurst, NB for surgery that's covered by MHSC.

That is amazing news to hear that Medicare will cover your flight and travel to Bathurst for your surgery...will that also include each and every visit you will have to make or just the initial? Just wondering...or will they set somethign up that you can get your fills in Monitoba after your surgery?...
Things are moving really fast...woohooo I can't wait to get my call for my consult in the fall..

Actually I am wanting the Ds surgery. Funny thing that I just found out also is that Manitoba medicare does not cover the lap band. They well cover all visits if the Dr. S explains his procedure and why he needs to see me more than the first consult and surgery day. They well not pay for information or educational visits. I need to actually see the Dr. or at least have blood work done.
