Has anybody else recieved a call from Dr.S yet!!!

Just wanting to know if any of my fellow Dr.S patients got a call yet !!!!!!  I am getting more anxious by the day. I check every day for good news. I just want to lay my eyes on Dr.S and hear him tell me that I well be having my DS surgery. I need a consult or at least a date for my consult, even if it is in Sept/Oct. I need the actual date so I can prepare and plan. I am not just a drive away, I am provinces away!!!!!!!

I called the new number for Dr S today and asked the lady if i could just verify that my referral has been received ( it was sent around March this year) and she said that Dr S has all the files with him and that there was no way for her to tell....I told her I wasnt asking for an appt just that it had been received and she told me the same again.  I was very disappointed and a bit mad, to be honest.  I mean, what if they didnt get it, am I to start this all again?  She did say that they have been calling those who were to see them last fall and that any others would probably not receive a call until this fall....that's all the news I have but would love to hear what the clinic has said to anyone else who did not see them in Oct, just to see if its the same story....

Angela here is the new number that is for Dr Savoie's clinic or office that was posted a few notes back that is available to call after May 5th which it is, if you want to call unless you have already called this number 506 544 3710.  Hope this helps a bit

Since you have not had an initial consult, my guess is that you are not going to get a call before fall, My understanding is that Dr S is doing the easiest patients from October, then he will do the remainder of the Oct patients. I would imagine he will access his inexperienced team to see if they have gained sufficient experience and either do the remainder of the October people or do the easier November patients. He is also doing bands first, before tackling either DS.  His team needs to gain experience from the "normal " routine, free (as possible) of complications, before learning to deal with complex cases.  I know that everyone is anxious to have their surgery, but his priority is everyone's safety. This means having the best possible support team for before, during, & after surgery by training them properly............I will get off the soap box now! LOL

I dont mind waiting....I just want to be sure my name is there with correct contact information.  This should not be so frustrating to confirm...

One would think that they would be able to check to make sure our referrals are there.  I know when I had called and spoke with Sharon she didn't have anyones names at all but she would pass the information on if you needed to add new information to your files or referrals.  I am sure if Sharon were able to she would check to see if your referral was there.  I know it is frustrating not knowing for sure if your referral reach their office from your family doctor.  Did you call your family doctor or the secretary to see if they received a confirmation of your referral being faxed to Dr Savoie's office? 

I am sure that everything is there and all will fall into place for you.  I am happy just knowing that I should be getting a call in the fall for my first consult and once that part is behind me then I know for sure that things are moving forward.  I don't think that Dr Savoie did any consults in December of this past year because I haven't seen anybody's name on the consult  list past November.  I was also wondering if when the secretary receives all these referrals after November and they are dated when received are they put in order or just all piled together out of seaquence and how would or do they determine who will be consulted first for the January referrals etc?  So many questions and forgetting to ask them until after I get off the phone...

I will be patient and wait for that call for the first consult, and just keep reading what others on here after they have their second consults make out.  I am excited..

Please remember, if you are calling the number that was posted a few posts back, it is not Dr. Savoies number, it is the nutrition/Diabetic clinic, so she will only have those that Dr S has passed on to call for appts.  I think if you call directory assistance, or the old number for Dr Bartlett and Dr Savoie, they will give you the number for his new office/clinic.  They should be able to tell you if they have your referral.

The old number I called (his previous office) gave me that number as the new number for his clinic.  It turns out to be the Diabetic Clinic who will be making all the calls for the next sessions.  DA only has the office number for him who will refer you back to the number I posted. 

There has to be a number out there to talk to someone on his staff.  They have a list of files, that they then give to the diabetic clinic.  I would like to know in what order my file was sent, or a less vague answer then...."it will be a couple of weeks" before you get your call to come in for the diabetic teaching.

Remember that he is doing all the patients who have had the first consult first. Though the process has been super frustrating, by comparison to most people from the past, this has been super fast.
