She wouldn't have called just one person.  Have you called the office? Dish!

Not yet, figured a few bandsters would be called before hitting up the DSers so being patient for a little while longer.

Of course this is the last month my hubby will be off (had his second operation) so would prefer to have the operation when he could go up to Bathurst with me ... likely will call next week ... squeaky wheel, lol.

In my opinion , I think that they should wait until they have all the consults in their hands before they call anyone .  Isn't it  Dr. S's  choice who has surgery when ?   It's funny that they called "itsbouttime"  , and not call anyone else ?   Why would they do that ?   Maybe we will start getting calls on Monday.

I think this is where we are all going to have to be the MOST patient because we are so close.  We have absolutely no control over when they decide to have each of us in for our second consult or surgery.  We DO know that the clinic is up and running, and that they'll call us when they call us.

I say this as a person who is also very frustrated.  But we need to keep on working at our own individual healthy-living program.  It won't be long now, and remember how absolutely frustrated we were when we didn't even know who we needed to be talking with about all of this!!  We now have a general time frame, and a contact person - who, by the way, is VERY sweet, and helpful.

I do wish I knew what Dr. S's criteria was for selecting patients with respect to order.  But again, I have zero control over that.  I'm sure there's lots we still don't know...but when we finally get that call, we won't care anymore!

Keep positive, girls!!

Someone said that he is starting with easy cases. this makes sense, given that his team has no experience. If I were the one who is in the greatest need because of high risk factors, I would rather wait until they have a few surgeries under their collective belt!

I think that regardless, we are all "high need," and want to have the best care possible.  Dr. S may not have done as many surgeries as other bariatric surgeons, but I think that you're in good hands whether you're first or last.

Oh i was not saying Dr S was inexperienced- it's his team that is new. It is reasonable that he start with less complex cases to allow them to gain experience. They need to learn what is "normal" recovery etc then take on cases where complications are statistically more likely. He is looking after the patients by looking after his team. Dr S was trained by the best, I would have full confidence in him, if he were my doctor.
