Question for the more experiensed bandsters.

Does your stoma feel sore when you eat? I don't have pain but it is aften kind of sore- even water makes it sore. It this just because it "new"?

Can't say that I've ever felt sore when I eat. Have you mentioned it at the clinic?

I had my  3rd fill on Thursday and had lost 19 lbs since January.

Hi Charline - no I have never felt pain when I eat. The only discomfort I feel when I overeat is in my shoulder, oddly enough.

I am thinking you should call the clinic on this one.  I have never had a sore stoma, no hurts at all when I eat.  I have been stuck 2 times and that hurts like he** but no pain at the stoma.  I am surprised you even know where that is.  I feel nothing there at all when I eat, stuff goes through now probs.  If I drin**** water I can feel it go through but only because it is cold not because it hurts.  It just hesitates ever so slightly before going through to the rest of my stomach.

I do have a sore abdomin.  I have wacked my port incision and my port a couple of times and so it is still sore.  Feels like a bad bruise most of the time.  If it still hurts by next fill I am going to ask someone to palpate and see if something is out of place.

Nevertheless I would not ignore this pain if I were  you.  You would not want to end up with erosion or something and not know it.  Be very careful and take care of yourself Charline, you have come to far to ignore it.

I get  the shoulder pain if I eat too much too. This is sore like a sore muscle when you aren't using it. I will call the clinic next week.

Welcome to my world. i have pain often. he has been investigating it and so far found nothing.  i go on the 14th for the ultrasound results.  but i know the pain you speak of.

I decided today that the best way to describe it is that it feels like a bruise. I have always been able to feel a difference in the band/ stoma area.
