Sharon called me from the Bathurst Hospital in regards to Dr Savoie's consults

Sharon is a godsend with this information and really knowing that there is a set date now for May 4th and moving forward is awesome.  I told Sharon that I was not upset with waiting until the fall for my consult as I explained to her that my wait to see Dr B is still going to be 5 years or so and that is way to long for anyone to have to wait considering I have been on his list since the beginning of 2006, mind you my name is still on his list but I am more then sure that I will be seen by Dr Savoie long before I even get a call from Dr B's office.

I just hope that once the fall comes that the consults move along and step two is done and surgery as well before the roads get too bad through the winter as Bathurst gets harsh winters.  I will have a 5 hour drive each time I go up there so chances are I would just stay up over night if need be.

So happy about this and jumping for joy

Hi All , just to let you know that Sharon called me yesterday & I was out to the Dr. , she called again this morning at 9am sharp.  All of her info jives with yours, how good is that!!  Well,the time has come ....Monday is the 4th of May .  I wonder when I will get my call for the dietician & diabetic clinic ?  It's exciting isn't it ??    I know how you girls feel who have not had their consultation , but you shouldn't have the wait that us first bunch have had. Now that he is on the go with surgeries it should go rather smoothly.  So good luck  on getting your call.

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!  Did all you ladies call Sharon and leave a message or is she calling everyone on the list.  I have still not called to follow up on my situation and I'm thinking I may just call her instead of Dr Savoie's office since she seems to have the know on all this stuff!  It is so nice to finally see movement!!! 

I called her.  I hadn't followed-up on anything since making sure my referral had been received back in December.  I explained right away that I didn't want to take too much of her time but I had been checking the OH website for info and that I thought it was time for me to check to make sure all was a go.  She was extremely nice and friendly.  She took my info down and called me back about 15 minutes later.  She told me that she had just spoken with Dr. Savoie and then she explained about the people who had not yet had a consult will start being seen in Sept/Oct.  It makes sense actually.  This way, he will be able to focus on the people who have already been seen and then the wait time between consult and surgery can be lessened because the list will have been shortened. 

Now that I am comfortable with the information I have received I will breathe easy and not call again until Fall.

I am hesitantly optimistic...if that even exists...lol...I can't wait to sit on a blanket for a picnic with my kids and not have to worry about not being able to get up. 

That is fantastic news. I know that some of you who haven't had a consult may be a little disappointed that you have to wait until fall, but you have only been waiting less than a year. I understand the uncertainty has been rough, but in reality think where you would be if Dr S hadn't arrived on the scene!!

The good thing about all this waiting is knowing that we won't be waiting for another 5 years for our surgeries and that is great.  I am not disappointed because I now know there is that light at the end of this long tunnel and my new journey will soon begin.

Whe I was speaking with Sharon she didn't have the actual list to be able to see if your name is on it she was just giving information that she had but here is the new number for Dr Savoie's office as of next week 506 544 3710.     They would have our names on there to know if our referral is there for Dr Savoie.  This is so exciting Angela this will go fast and I am sure your referral is there but I would certainly call his new number next week.
