Sharon called me from the Bathurst Hospital in regards to Dr Savoie's consults
Hello everyone, just wanted to let you know that I had called Sharon at the Bathurst Hospital yesterday in regards to some questions I wanted to ask and find out. I left my name and brief message and phone number and she just called me back this morning. What a lovely person to speak with and she took all the time in the world to listen to me without any rush in her tone or voice. Anyway she explained to me that May 4th is going to be the beginning of more consults as well she thinks that Dr Savoie will be combining the other previous consults for all you ladies that have had the first visit so that you will have your second visit as well to then begin your two week slim fast or medi-trim as the surgeries will be starting in June.
She is going to pass on the information to Dr Savoie that I gave her this morning with both my home and cell phone number and she said the very first consult calls will come from the Diabetic Clinic and then the information will be sent to the surgery suite who will then call to give your surgery date. Sharon said she still had allot of questions to ask Dr Savoie so that she is better informed and can give us more information along the way. Sharon also said that she will call me if she receives more information along with calling anyone else who had left information in regards to Dr Savoie.
I am so excited and she also said that there only between 50-100 referrals as of yet on his list that she is aware of unless the office where the secretary is received more referrals.
At least now we have more firm dates as to what is going on. So May 4th will be the beginning of calling patients for the initial consult as well as you ladies that have already had the consult and will be going for the second visit prior to surgery. Sharon says that there is only going to be just the 2 visits from what she was told.
Good luck everyone the fun is just beginning for us waiters. Oh and if you are not home when they call for the initial consult and have voice mail they will leave a brief message and not pass you by on the list so no worries there.
If Sharon calls me back I will be sure to post more information for everyone.
Hugs
Beth

Hi ladies,
When it starts, it pours...
Sharon also just called me back and said that no new patients will be seen until Fall. So if you haven't had your consult like me, we wait until September/October.
He is going to start with the people who have already had their initial consults. They will have another one either with dietician or other and then on to surgery. There is at least 2 consults and maybe one more.
Calls will be starting next week and surgeries definitely in June.
Just thought I'd share.

yes, good news I think. And since I'm starting to work next week, time will fly by until Fall. Hopefully I can get into surgery either before Christmas or early January since I'll start work again in April/May. That would work out perfectly for me.

Hello,
I just spoke with Sharon as well. I recieved the same info as you did. It's wonderful feeling... no conflicting information. Thumbs up to this new info. She is going to check my referral to verify it was recieved with the correct info (my gp sometimes lacking/lazy in sending update info) and call me back. Having a consult in the fall is fine for me...I need to lose the weight I gained while down with my knee injury.
