My new fill.......
1- Is the band area supposed to feel sore?
2- TMI warning......What is with all this .....let's call it air??
3- How in H*** can one get all the water in? Any water in for that matter??? Today I have consumed 3 Glucerna, a glass of milk, 2 coffee, and a V-8. That has taken all day. A couple of sips and I am full for 15 minutes.

Once the swelling goes down it will get better. keep an eye on it though and make sure you aren't overfilled. enjoy the restriction!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Charline,
Sounds like you are either more swollen than I was with my first one or your band is fuller. How many cc's did he put in yours. He tried to put 3 in mine and it was too much and so he had to reduce it to 2ccs. Just pay attention because if you are too full you can get dehydrated.
I did not feel sore in my band area. My port area hurt though.
Ya - there will be "air". But it will lessen the further out you get from your fill.
I suggest you have substantial liquids only at meal time - no coffee. In between do the water.
Keep me posted on how things progress. I am interested to know how it goes since I have my next fill at the end of May.
Oh and are you experiencing any real hunger pangs? I still get hungry which tells me I don't have the right amount in my band yet.

I am absolutely starved!! BUT I am full after a sip of water. Ten minutes later, I can have another sip. My port and my stoma are both sore. Tonight my DH and I walked the Nature Park in Saint John and it was shortly after I finished supper. I had to keep stopping because my stoma was hurting. Not painful, but sore. I was being cautious. The liquid food is going down a bit quicker today, I can't eat a full cup, not even close. Yesterday I had to sip real food most of the day to get sufficient food to stay alive!! Today it seems that I "fill-up" very quickly, but I continue to be hungry, even immediately after eating. Feeling full doesn't equal feeling satisfied....yet. It is tricky with insulin, so far I haven't had to have sugar to counteract a low.
Hey Charline,
I would suggest you call the clinic. It is entirely possible your band is too full. If you are not experiencing relief by Monday, give Lise a call. She and Caroline are amazingly understanding and may have some suggestions for you. And if they feel you are too full one suggestion may be to head on in and get a cc taken out. Be careful you don't get dehydrated.
Keep us posted on how it goes for you. I am doing well after my fill, remember 3cc's was too much for me and so I only got 2cc's. I can eat about a cup of food, perhaps a bit more if I pushed it and I am actually having to make sure that I am getting enough good calories in. Since the fill, 11 days ago, I have lost 6.6 pounds. I have not exercised at all because my breathing has been compromised by this cold that will not leave me. I have been "stuck" once briefly because I absent mindedly swallowed something without chewing it enough. But other than that I am not experiencing any of the discomfort you are experiencing. I notice that ice water hesitates ever so briefly before it goes through and so I am having no trouble sipping my full daily allowance of water.
How many cc's did he add to your band? I am sure you mentioned it but I dont' recall.
Please be careful and call the clinic if this persists. And keep us posted.

I was able to drink all my water since yesterday. Today I can drink a mouthful of water in 3 swallows. I had "normal" food today- Cheerios for breakfast, cheese and an egg for lunch, and pork and coleslaw for supper. I ate a roll this evening and it seems to be fine so far.
I don't know if I am losing weight or just the water weight I gained in the week before my fill. I have dropped 5 pounds, still have 3 pounds to go to lose everything I gained in a week. I can wear my rings again.
It is strange that I am able to wearing a skort that when I last wore it, I was 15 pounds lighter. I think it's being post menopausal but my weight is coming off very differently that previously.
Lise put 3 cc into the band, then took half a cc out.
Another strange thing is that my shoulder pain is back when I put pressure on my stoma.
And so the adventure continues......

Wow sounds like a good pouch day with the exception of the port pain.
You can eat an egg.... over 10 months out and no matter how I try one and I try them often cause they are such great protein and so easy to prepare!
What I get is egg into pouch and very shortly after egg coming out of pouch!
I am almost to the point of just ditch'n them but deviled egg season is soon upon us and I am so gonna miss them!
And you handle bread - Charline you are doing pretty awesome for so early out!
Keep up the great job!
