I just need to vent...hope no one minds

We make our decision on the type of surgery based on the information we're armed with. One of the reasons I gave Dr B for NOT wanting the lapband was because he was behind on his fills. He assured me that although he is a little behind on subsequent fills, he is NOT behind on the first fills. BALONEY! Although he said Nathalie would call me to schedule, I figured I better call her since My 6 weeks is next week. Of course, no appts left and then he's on vacation. I have no problem with vacation since we all need a break now and again and I'm sure with being as busy as he is, he certainly looks forward to them but why aren't the first fill appts booked at the time of the surgery so there is no problem getting in? Now I must wait until after 8 weeks for first fill. It may not seem that bad for some, but I am already struggling so much with the eating that it seems like an eternity. Anyway, thanks for listening and again, I'm sorry for so much negativity. It really is out of character for me.

They should have more staff trained to fill, I don't see why a nurse cannot take courses on the filling process. Life would be much easier.

I thought a nurse had taken the training to fill but she is not doing first fills for sure. 

Dr. Beau wants to do the first fill regardless.  But after that it should be easier to get a fill if there is a nurse who can do it.  Someone at my fill appointment told me that his wife did her fill.  So its hard to say.   I called the other day and made my own appointment for my second fill because he had said he wanted me to have another one in 6 weeks and I didn't want to leave it to the last minute and rely on a very very busy secretary to get around to me eventually.  I had to wait so long for my first fill but part of that was me because I went away.  But still I had my surgery on Dec 2 and I did not get a call for my first fill until mid Feb., nearly 10 weeks later!

Dr. Beau is a very busy man that's for sure but he needs to let some of the control go and allow others to help him with the maintenance of his patients.

Don't ever wait  for them to call you. If I had done that I wouldn't have had my surgery. I called for my fill appointment the day after the staples came out. I am calling for my next appointment tomorrow.

I had my first fill today- done by Lise. Expect the unexpected!! It didn't hurt much at all. I have had worse finger *****s to check my blood sugar. She put in 3 CC, then took out .5  after the drinking test.  So far so good.....except I am starving.  I was terrified that I gained weight because my weight has gone up 7 pounds in the last week. I gained 2.5 pounds overnight.  I was down one single pound. Not much, but not a gain. I know that I have gained at least 5 pounds of water weight this week, so that's really a loss of 6 pounds in 4 weeks.

I really feel for you Starsky as we wait so long to get what we need and we get hope; then to wait again it just doesn't seem fair. I know Dr. B is doing what he can himself and is flat out. To bad they couldn't get some extra help in this area as there is a great demand. Hang in there girl and take it one-day-at-a-time. It is hard to stay positive all the time and we don't mind anyone venting.  We understand fully as we all been there before I'm sure....I know I have been. Take care. :)

The last time I was in Moncton, Lise told me that both her and Dr. B's wife were training to do fills. That should make the wait much shorter for you bandsters. One of the problems is I suppose when Dr. B goes on vacation, so does Mrs. B. The weeks will pass quickly Starsky. Just hang in there. We must be all experts at waiting by now.I was supposed to go back to see Dr. B. 6 weeks after my stomach dilation but have recieved no call yet. When I called natalie she said she had to call me for the appointment to see him. So we wait some more. I don't mind because i feel O.K.

Lise did my fill on Wednesday.
