Hey everyone,

I have just posted some comparison shots on my profile.  I have it set so only friends can see them so if you can't view them place a friend request and I will hook you up.

I don't know about anyone else but I can really see a difference thus far.  I am very proud to say that today, my 56th birthday, I am at an all time low since beginning this wonderful adventure.  Even less than when I left for my cruise.  I am down about 35 pounds since surgery and a little over 60 since this all began.  I am really pleased with that, really and truly pleased.  I am so proud of how far I have come and I am hoping that come the one year anniversay of my consult June 30th that I will be in great shape.

I am still on puree today and doing fine.  I am not hungry now because I am getting some protein now and able to have the food stay in my pouch longer.

I made a huge lentil stew today that I will portion into 1 cup servings and freeze.  I find if I can just grab something already portioned out from the freezer to take to work, I do much better.  I like to take homemade chili made with ground chicken or the lentil stew or a black bean soup that I reduce to stew consistency.  I have really come to enjoy beans and lentils for their excellent protein and fibre content.  I usually have a small piece of laughing cow cheese to go with that.  Sometimes to increase the protein content, I shred up an ounce of chicken and add it to a serving of the stew or soup.

I also like to take the single portions of Sillouette yogurt with me as well for snacks or applesause and some laughing cow.  I also like to eat a few baby carrots for a snack.  Just crunching them enough to swallow properly is very satisfying.  I will often take half a small apple and some cheese too.  I really like the laughing cow cheese because it is soft and spreadable and putting it on a serving of Kashi Go Lean crackers or the Blue Menu wheat and onion Crackers is a nice snack but I make sure I chew the daylights out of each cracker.  That alone helps with that head hunger.  Eating smooth slider foods can only lead to weight gain.  I find that all the chewing we are supposed to do helps to satisfy the need to eat something.

For supper I usually eat whatever Hubby normally would eat, a protein, a veg and sometimes a small portion of potato.  I tend to stay away from rice for now.  I just take a smaller portion of everything and weight the protein.  We have never been big beef eaters and tend to have mostly chicken or fish and I haven't found either to be a problem as yet.  We especially like to get a salmon fillet or bake chicken breasts with different seasonings.  I also love fillet of sole.  I don't eat bread, but the crackers and oh I do love melba toast with a little bit of sugar free jam on it in the mornings.

I told Lise all about this when I had my fill the other day and she feels I am doing just great.  She did say to try to get some bread or starches into my eating plan but was pleased that I was using beans and lentils and staying away from red meat.

Anywho that is today's news.  Check out the photos if you can or request to be put on my friend list and I will add you so you can see how its going.

Thanks Patsy,

I feel amazing.  I have more energy and I feel like doing things, going places.  Before I would say to my husband "oh you want to wash the car?  Let me know when you are done."  Now I say, "Hon, lets wash the car, you get the water started I will go get the shop vac."  He just looks at me like I'm nuts.

I am far from where I want to be but I know where I am going and I know how I am going to get there, its all just a matter of time.  I am well and truly glad to say goodbye to the old me.  The new me is waiting just down the road a bit to go on the biggest adventure.
