Nervous

Hey everyone,

I am sorry I have been so quiet lately.  I have been struggling  a lot but mostly just not feeling well overall.  This cold will not let go.  I am tired and sluggish and just plain tired of blowing my nose.  The guy that invented Kleenex with lotion needs to get an award of some kind like maybe the Nobel prize for medicine or some super humanitarian award for running noses or something.

Nevertheless I am hanging in there.  I gained a little on the cruise and have only been able to lose about 2 pounds of it.  I have been so hungry, the band is there but not working and I struggle everyday to get from one end to the other on small meals and snacks.

I am also fearful of my first fill the day after tomorrow.  I don't want the doctor to be too agressive with the fill and end up having to go back to get some taken out.  I want to go slowly and take it easy.  I would rather have 2 fills about a month apart than have one fill and then an unfill.

So keep me in your thoughts guys, Wednesday will be my next big day in my adventure.  I had surgery on December 2 and am only now getting that first fill.  I will let you know how I make out as soon as I can.

Ann

Oh no Ann.   I hate seeing you feel this way.

I'm sorry about your cold.  I hope you feel better, especially since you're going for your first fill.

I am sending you positive vibes for this new experience and it can't be worst than the surgery right?   Look at everyone that had their fills and feel ok now.

All this to say that it's probably normal that you're nervous.  I'm nervous now!!!!!  LOL

Take care Ann and I'll be thinking of my angel on Wednesday!  :)

Ann, I will also be thinking of you on Wed. You have been waiting a long time for your first fill so good luck. I hope your cold soon lifts. Maybe this will be a great week for you. Your fill will be wonderful for you and hopefully the cold will give up. Here's to a great end to your week Ann.

Ann, you have trusted Dr B so far, just keep trusting him. By all means tell him your fears and trust him to do what is the best bet. Nothing is absolute, but his judgment is best.  Just because you have gained weight, doesn't mean that he will put more in the band.

He won't give you more than you want.  he's not aggressive at all.  If you tell him just a little, that's what he'll do.  You just have to tell him.  No need to worry.  Hope you feel better soon.  take care, Patsy

Awww Ann, its understandable you’re nervous but try to keep positive…this is another step in your journey. From what I’ve gathered, Dr. B always starts with either 3cc or 4cc first fill depending on how well you swallow the barium.

Also I don’t think he’s very aggressive from what I’ve heard from his other patient. I think he’s pretty good with listening to his patients and taking things slow.

I also think that since you were due for your 1st fill a few months ago, he will not be stern about your weight gain. I think if you only gained a few pounds it’s more of a victory than a failure.

GOOD LUCK

Thanks for all your support guys, I knew I could count on you.  I will be fine I know.  And I was talking to my husband today about how I feel about my little gain and how I feel that I have done very well under the cir****tances.  He told me he feels I have done amazingly well considering I am way overdue for a fill and that he is very proud of me for my courage to have the surgery and my determination to make this work.  And I know that even though I have gained a little bit I still weigh a lot less than I did on surgery day.  I have done well and I am proud of the progress I have made and the good job I have done in losing at least half of the holiday weight gain.

I will trust Dr. B.  He will do what is best for me but I am going to tell him how nervous I am and that I hope he will consider going slow for the next fill or 2.

Thanks again guys, I am so glad that there are so many caring people on this site.

Ann
