Called Dr Savoie's Office and spoke to the Secretary

I just phoned Dr Savoie's office to find out some information in regards to my name on the list etc and she said that all referrals have been sent to the hospital and that she was not sure what number on the list I am as the hospital will be the one calling the names on the list for consults but she didn't give me a number to contact at the hospital so I am still back to the waiting.  Unless someone has the phone number that I would call at the hospital to get that information.

On the upbeat though she did say things will move quickly with consults and scheduling so that is good to hear.

Thanks for the info.  I've been waiting since the beginning of December for my consult and have yet to hear of anything.  I've been waiting more patiently than I thought I could.  Let's hope I can keep myself from going bonkers until they start the consults again.

Of course, I'm going to start working within the next few weeks.  This means that if by some chance that they could do surgeries quickly, I'll still have to wait until fall.  Oh well, better a bit late than never.

On the plus side, I've lost 7lbs since my last regular Dr. appt a few months ago.

Keep the updates coming everyone...keeps me a bit more sane!  *of course, you're thinking that I'm sane....little do you know...hehehehe*

You tried! So all we can do is wait and wait some more and then celebrate when we actually hear something.

Talk to you soon Stephanie

You got that right, at least knowing for my own satisfaction that my referral is in their data system for Dr Savoie even though my family doctor told me they received the referral.  I needed to know for myself.

I should have asked the secretary if she knows what the call process is meaning "do we have to be sitting right by our phones each and every day or will they leave a message on our answering machines or voice mails if we have them, or if we are not home at the time of the call do we go on the bottom of the list??  So many questions to ask but forgot this one.  I am home usually every day anyway as I work the overnight shift so if the phone rings I am up.

Just patiently waiting now is all we can do.

Hi everyone....I've been laying low lately and just trying to deal with my depression...I was going through such a bad period where I was panicking about how long I may have to wait for surgery and if this old body would even last that long....it really sent me into a spin.  I'm feeling a bit better now.
Beth-how do you know your name is in the data base....did she actually check and confirm that?  My referrals are sent as well but I havent had the nerve to call the Dr's office's to really confrm they have my stuff...which would give even more peace of mind.

thanks for the update

Good MOrning Angela:

When I had called Dr Savoie's office the other day the secretary put me on hold and checked to see if I was on the list and she told me that I was and she read back my address and phone number and all that I had given her was just my name.  I know I was thinking the same thing what if she was just saying that I was there and not really checking so when she read back my mailing address I knew I was there.   If I were you I would give her a call she is nice on the phone and doesn't mind answering any questions that you may have that she can possibly answer for you.

I hope you have a better day and please give me a call when you get a chance...it is a rough road when you go through depression and what have you.  Right now I am worried about my youngest son as he may have to have another operation on his chest in Montreal and I have upcoming surgery on my eye on the 15th of this month so I am stressing about Brandon more then anything where he has already had two major operations on both his chest and his spine.

Please have a good and talk to you soon

Hugs

Beth

So sorry to hear that  your son may need surgery.  Wishing you all the best - Love & Prayers - Suzanne H.

Thank you Suzanne the circle of prayer certainly goes a long ways and gives me the strength go go onwith everything.  I wasin contact with my sons surgeon in Montreal and we are going ot have a teleconferrence call from the Regional Hospital to the Montreal Chidlrens Hospital on the 16th of this month for his surgeon to be able to view his chest and decide if a second operation is needed to correct the right side of his chest from sinking in again.  He already has one bar in his chest that is suppose to stay in for 3 years and then be removed so the need for a second one in there is possible or they may have to replace the first one.  We have made many trips back and fourth in the past year to Montreal and it is very stressfull.  I wish I could take all of Brandon's troubles away from him and make things right but we can only be there for him in love and support.  A very long road for recovery for him he is still recovering from his spinal surgery that he had this past september 22nd where he had two rods inserted into his spine from his neck to almos this tailbone and a complete fusion the surgeon who did his spine says it takes about 3 years for complete recovery from that operation.  So we are hoping he will not need this latest operation on his chest but we will soon find this out.

So I have kind of put my health on the side lines to look after my son, but things are looking better.

I understand completely.  Sounds strange to say, but in some way it would be a comfort to carry all their pain and suffering.
