Scheduling vs. Surgery Date: Savoie
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to let you all know that I called that poor receptionist for Dr. Savoie (who is very nice - but admitted it's frustrating for her not to have the answers we all want) and flat out asked her "When is my surgery?"
She said that this month she anticipates that Dr. Savoie will be booking/scheduling surgeries. This does not necessarily mean that the surgeries will actually happen this month. But, it won't be anything crazy like November, or anything. I would GUESS that if you get a call this month, that you'll be booked for maybe May, or June.
Just thought I'd let you know what I heard...pieces of a puzzle sort of, huh?
And really, even just knowing when it will happen will be a huge relief, I think.

Hi Anita,
So great to hear. I for one wasn’t expecting to be thrown into surgery the next day I got the call.I would assume I would have to go to Bathurst at least once before to discuss the 2 week pre opt diet and for pre opt testing. This is great news regardless. I have all my calls from my home phone transferred to my blackberry to make sure I do not miss a call. I am so anxious at this point to have the surgery part of it over with. I wonder if he will proceed like he said when I saw him, Lap bands first and Sleeve/DS second? Thank you! M

I’m the exact same way as you, if they called tomorrow and my date would be in November, as long as I have my date and it’s set in stone (minus emergencies of course), I would be great with that.
I am looking forward to have the surgery done and over with, but the part I hate the most is being in a dark. I’m too obsessive and organized for that!

You know, I'm not so worked up about *when* - I just want to know when. You know what I mean? I'd be okay with November, just as long as they told me when it is. I'm probably in the minority that way, I'm sure. Hi Anita , I guess you weren't the only one with those sediments , were you . I "think" , we are all in the same boat. Summer is coming up & we all have places to go & things to do . Myself , I am tired of sitting next to the phone .... if I just had a DATE , I would be happy !!!! Although to get the surgery part over would be a relief also. Lets hope & pray that soon we will all get a relief from all this anxiety , one way or the other.
Honestly, I'm not really anxious about surgery. I don't think about it a whole lot, really. I'm sure that will change, but for now I'm just doing what I need to do in preparation. It might be that I'm extremely busy at work right now, and going in at this point would be difficult. I've been able to occupy my mind with work and other things, so that's good.
