Anitalynne,

I think you are absolutely right.  We have to take this time to nurture ourselves and start our new life with the new habits.

I've fallen off the wagon and all this time thinking why are you "sabotaging" yourself like this?   I was doing very well for a month or so and then I had my "goodbye" moment that lasted too long.
Thank you for helping me get back on track!

Hello there:

I know this must all be very frustrating and upset thinking about all these delays with Dr Savoie's office and consults being put off.  I am still thinking on the positive side of everything and that is we all know that Dr Savoie's list is substantially smaller then Dr B's by years and once he does get up and running it will be no time before everyone that has already seen Dr S will finally be on the loosing end.  The thing is is that if he is still behind then so is the other doctors in the new clinic as well.  Everything happens for a reason I keep telling myself and things will work out for the good.  We all have to have PMA (positive mental attitude) and just keep working on making ourselves healthier prior to the big day.    I have been on Dr B's waiting list since early 2006 and when talking to them I am still going to be waiting another 5 years at least so that is even more upsetting and frustrating.  I am thankfull that we finally have a second WLS Doctor in New Brunswick to take the wait off of Dr B but I guess we have to be a bit more patient in the long term.

Having friends on here and being able to express ourselves is wonderful and we have a very good support team on here for each other, just hang in there ladies and we will get there.

Hugs
Beth
whitneyb1999,  may I ask why you have to wait for so long.  I was referred to Dr. B in 2007 by Dr. Dornan and I am scheduled for my surgery April 21/09.  Why is it gonna take another five years?

Honestly I am not sure as to why you already have a surgery date and I am still waiting...could be health issues or something...I know I started out on Dr. B's list for the RNY and once the lap band was covered by medicare last spring it supposedly moved me down on the list.  At least that is what I was told.  It is jsut frustrating to know that others that were waiting with Dr B after I was on the list have had consults and surgery dates and have had surgery already so your guess is as good as mine.  When I called Dr. B's office just before Christmas they told me I was on the waiting list but that the doctor was only in the 300's on the list and that I was in the thousands and that it would be some time before I would get a call.  I also went through Dr Dornan and he had sent the referral up to Dr B

I was frustrated this week as well.  I called Dr Dornan's office on Tuesday between 9-12 as that is the only time you are allowed to call each week and I asked if Dr Dornan has done the referral letters for Dr Savoie yet.  I have been calling every week for a couple months now and have been told, they are not done each time.  The lady who answered told me that Dr Dornan could not refer me to Dr Savoie and that I would have to get my family Dr to do it.  I asked if there was a reason but she said he did not leave one.  He referred me to Dr B last July so I was bewildered why he wouldnt refer me to this one...it bothered me.  Then I was speaking to a girl at work and she told me that Dr Dornan told her that he only refers to Dr B right now.  I have no idea why.  Anyway,  I already had my family dr send a referral to both surgeons so at least I'm on the lists.  I also called the 2 offices today and Dr B's receptionist told me it is a 6yr wait however she has to say that because so many people are having surgeries with other doctors in other provinces and not taking themselves off her list.  When I called Dr S's receptionist she said that they hoped the clinic would be open next month...Its crazy!

About Dr. B. I have no idea how he priorities his list because I've been on  it for two years and I've never gotten a call and every time I call, I am told it will be three years yet some people on this board don't have to wait as long. It's very strange. This said, I haven't called them since Oct because I've had my consultation with Dr. S.

I agree Anita that after the surgery it won't be night and day, I am just anxious to get the surgery part done. I just always feel like I have a surgery pending over my head lol

What would happen if we got a  call from the hospital for surgery & we are not home to take the call ???   Would they go on to the next in line or call again??  I am scared to leave the house or phone just in case they do call.  I feel like I am  a prisioner & can't leave  , been like this since Jan.  I was told by Dr. S that my surgery would be this winter ....its spring now ~~~~~waiting kind of impatiently ...I too would like to get it over with and get started on my own journey .
