Wow! I mean you expect delays when someone opens a new practice, but come on! You should also expect those delays to eventually end!

I don't imagine that Dr S is thrilled either.

0MG......you have to be kidding!!!!  Maybe I should ask for a referral to Dr B.  Looks like I'll go back into hiding for another few months!!

Frustrating, huh?  I know.

Well, look at the bright side.  This gives us a good solid 3 months to get used to what life is going to be like with the band.  Surely we can buckle up for 3 months?  I'm trying my best to get off at least 10 pounds by walking, and watching my portion sizes.  Easing myself into what things are going to be like for the rest of my life with the band.

I can't say I'm very surprised. I mean dec turned into jan, jan turned into feb, feb to march, March to april and now april to june. It's not the waiting I hate, it's the fact that now i'm sort of like, well I don't actually believe it will happen in june. you know what I mean? They say June and all I can think of it, soooo September then? lol

It's pretty frustrating for all of us. At least a decent progress report would make me feel better. I'm sort of happy it's not April for the simple fact that I am moving, but really I was hoping before summer :/

Ah well, keep the faith right...

Yeah. If I was on his list right now I would be bracing for another delay into the fall. At least that way if he gets set up earlier you'd get a great surprise! Hang in there ladies!

Hi All,

My sister also called the Dr's office, and the secretary told her that Dr Savoie has been experiencing some red tape, and now that tape is lifted, and he should start doing surgeries next month.  Maybe the June timeframe is for when he will start up consulting again?????

Hello there:

I know this must all be very frustrating and upset thinking about all these delays with Dr Savoie's office and consults being put off.  I am still thinking on the positive side of everything and that is we all know that Dr Savoie's list is substantially smaller then Dr B's by years and once he does get up and running it will be no time before everyone that has already seen Dr S will finally be on the loosing end.  The thing is is that if he is still behind then so is the other doctors in the new clinic as well.  Everything happens for a reason I keep telling myself and things will work out for the good.  We all have to have PMA (positive mental attitude) and just keep working on making ourselves healthier prior to the big day.    I have been on Dr B's waiting list since early 2006 and when talking to them I am still going to be waiting another 5 years at least so that is even more upsetting and frustrating.  I am thankfull that we finally have a second WLS Doctor in New Brunswick to take the wait off of Dr B but I guess we have to be a bit more patient in the long term.

Having friends on here and being able to express ourselves is wonderful and we have a very good support team on here for each other, just hang in there ladies and we will get there.

Hugs
Beth

Thanks for this positivity, Beth!!

I have to be honest - and I hope that I'm not "flamed" for this because I'm quite possibly totally wrong.  I get the feeling that a lot of us are waiting for this particular surgery (talking Lap Band) to hurry up and happen so that things will change ASAP.  From what I know about the surgery, and from what people have said after they've had it done, things won't "change" for a while afterward anyway.  You aren't filled right away, and even when you are, you still have to follow a program, or at the very least a healthy eating regimine.  Doesn't "Lap Band Hell" refer to that period of time where you're not restricted?  And even when you do have your fill, you still have to carefully watch your food intake, as well as exercise.  It's not like other WLS where you don't have to be quite as vigilent in order to see some level of success.

I just hope that none of us are wasting this time by not putting into practice the things we HAVE to do even after the band.

On the flip side, trust me when I say that I'm anxious too to get the surgery part behind me, and that I check the board often to see if there have been any folks getting dates.

Keep up the positivity!!!
