First Fill

I managed to get through to Nathalie today and she booked me for my first fill on April 15.  Three weeks from now.  I was hoping that I could get it done sooner but that was the best she could do for me.

Something I did not know was that I have to fast for 4 hours before the fill but that I can have water up to the fill itself.  

I am way overdue for a fill and so I am really looking forward to the next step in the process.  I will be over 4 months out from surgery before this first fill.  I could have had one a few weeks before my trip but chose to pass it by out of fear and concern that I would experience complications in a location where good medical help could not be accessed.

I will continue to try to keep the calories down and increase my activity and hope that I can at least maintain my current weight.  I am not losing at this point.  I guess this is really bandster hell.  But I am hanging in there for now, one day at a time.

Thanks Debbie,  I really appreciate your encouragement.  I know I can do this.  I have done very well all along without a fill but recently with the trip and all I have struggled with caloric content. 

I am taking it one meal at a time thus far.

Ann, If, by struggling, you mean the couple of lbs you put on, then I pray I struggle like you. You are such an inspiration to all of us, with going on vacation, having no fill and still only barely gaining. You obviously are working your band to its full potential with no fill so imagine how great it will be once the 15th rolls around. Good on you!!!!

Congrats Ann, we all know how fast 3 weeks flies by.  I'm like you...I'm 5 months out and have only had one fill.  I can't wait for the next one.  God knows when mine will be.  You'll do amazing once they get that smidge of saline in you.  it makes a difference for sure.    you go girl !!!
