Dr.Savoie
I was wondering if anyone knows when his clinic well be doing consults or setting surgery appointments?? My Dr. from Manitoba has sent a referal to Dr. Savoie for the DS for me back in January. I did phone the clinic and the said they received my referal and that the hospital makes the appointments. I am just very antssy.

Wow, Manitoba!! You're coming over from far away! and I thought Moncton was far!!! Are you from NB?
I had my consultation on November 20th and was told by Dr. Savoie that my surgery should be before the Summer. With recent set backs, I'm waiting anxiously as well but I'm not anticipating any dates soon. I don't want to discourage you cause we never know but I would wait a few more months... If you get the call prior to that, it's a bonus.

Well Iam a born and raised Manitoban, but I do have a sister and other relatives in Fredericton,NB.Manitoba does not have a bariatric clinic or Doctor. NB has family to help me if I need to stay in Province

Dr Savoie jumped the gun slightly by starting to see people in Oct and then stopped in late Nov. The hospital was constructing a new surgical wing where he will have his office and do all his work from and there have been delays with that thus slowing down the whole process. We are told that his nurses were training in Moncton but that should be done by now and that the hospital would probably start calling some time in April. Once he's up and running, you will hear from him rather quickly...not 4-5 years like the other surgeon here in NB. We were told first Jan, then Feb and now Apr. It has to happen soon, the delays must be coming to an end in the near future. Keep your fingers crossed, sit back and relax and don't panic! We're all antsy but we can't do anything but wait!!!

Thanks, Charline...not been feeling too well lately 
so while I read what's going on here, I very seldom get involved. Not sure whether things are going to go in my favour so I have to be careful not to set my sights too high! And then I'm juggling my health with my hubbies and now my dog.......
