blender

Who of you have a magic bullet and is it worth finding  and buying one or would I be better off just getting a regular blender? I would like to have all the pros and cons. I will soon need to puree. Thanks everyone. Starr

I found a blender at Value Village for 10 dollars and I bought a smaller chopper at Zellers for 12 dollars. I have never used the blender because I found the chopper pureed everything to the consistancy I needed. It is a lot easier to clean too because it's smaller and less cumberson to disassemble than the heavy blender. I looked at the Bullit but thought it was too expensive. I'm glad now I didn't buy it. Some people on here have one and swear by it so I suppose it's a matter of personal choice.

Don't go just by me. I am still too tired to be bothered with cleaning a heavy blender.

Hey Suzanne, I haven't been on the site for awhile. After seeing you at the information meeting, the following day was one from hell that just got worst. I got back to work on the Wednesday to have to do some interviews for an opening in my office. That was fine but when I returned from the interview, the stafff had arranged my  25 anniversary celebrations for me and I was just floored. The boss, the treats, the gold watch, the pendant and all that stuff. I just was not emotionally ready for it all as everything from the session was running through my head. Then the ballpine hammer, my boss asked me if I would consider taking on a new job along with my current one; It would mean 3 weeks of exhaustive training out of town starting the next day at 7:30 am. So I had a meltdown indeed. Just  too much stuff in one day. So I clodded on until Friday when my lungs just couldn't function any longer. I couldn't catch my breath and just getting up and down from the table was enough for me. So on the saturday am I proceeded to our local hospital where i remained until today, 9 days later. I am zonked. I am weak but very happy to be home. While I was there I had lots of opportunity to cover the informaiton required of us by our next meeting and get some organizing done. Next week I am preparing some purees and liquids so I can start my week of fasting kinda. I put together a team of professionals here in my community for support including my trainer and nutritionist, who  happens to have worked with our weight loss team. I thought it was a great info session and we have alot to learn.  I checked my 193 emails when I got home (isn't that nuts) and didn't see anything from Diannna Lawlor so  I suspect nothing else has been done. I wonder if the OR cutbacks will effect how many surgieries they will be doing and how soon. Thanks for leanding an ear. I need to read the forums and catch up on all the news. I wondered where you were! That's awful about your breathing; not good at all. I'm glad they kept you in to look after things. You MUST be glad to be home . I emailed Diana Lawlor and asked about the cutbacks, but she said it did not affect the bariatric program. Yahoo!! 

You sound like you need a massage after all of your excitement! Do you have a good one nearby????

omg Carmen, that is aweful.  I hope you are feeling better now. It is all very overwhelming and you need time to process.  Don't let this take control.  Take the time you need and treat yourself well.   Keep us posted on how you are doing.  Patsy

I bought a magic bullet for the puree stage, but I admit I haven't test-driven it yet. I got it a Canadian Tire for $39.99 - not so bad. I also have a regular blender, but the thing I hear about the magic bullet is that you can pulse very easily and quickly, controlling the texture of the food better.

I just used an ordinary stick blender that I already had and it worked fine.  for the length of time you need it, it didn't seem necessary to purchase anything fancier.  I also have a regular blender but didn't need that either.
