Hi all,

Well I had a day you wouldn't wish on any one. I was thinking about the costs involved with going for consult surgery post op. I never expected what was coming when I made a couple calls earlier today. You see I am also on wait list to see Dr. Klein/ Dr.Quoc Huynh for consult. I called the DR's office today to be told WE DON't TAKE OUT OF PROVINCE REFERRALS!!!!!! I think after waiting since early last year on his list that someone would notice this F***n fact. I stayed glued barely long enough to make a call to Humber River Bariatric Program. She was nice helpful and clueless as to why I was told this, she'd get back to me and find info. Needless to say I fell absolutely apart in tears and having fits waiting for any answers. My hubby had to finally call back. They hadn't found out who why what of anything. The tears flowed so I couldn't hear end of conversation then. He told me after that still I'm a go..paperwork recieved, just wait list. I recieved a call way later in afternoon from the manager of Humber program I'm ok and provides info I was orignally calling for. I am just completely emotionally drained now. I need a nice lalala happy peaceful weekend now. Find my happy place again. I am ready to suck my thumb again I swear!!! thanks for reading.

I'm so sorry to hear about your awful day yesterday. I think the emotional toll we experience pre op is by far much greater than anything we experience post op. The years of waiting exacts an awful toll.

Where is the two doctors that you mentioned? I've never heard of them and where is the Humber River Baratric Program? Newfoundland?

I wish you all the best as I see you will now be accepted as an out of province patient.

What a nightmare. I would be out for blood; I would be so furious. OMG Someone owes you a huge apology. I would relax this weekend and call that receptionist on Monday and sweetly lay the biggest guilt trip ever, that just might get you an appointment earlier.

That's  great. Goes to show you that the occasional melt down is not such a bad thing!! LOL

Just kidding around because I wouldn't wish what you went through on anyone. Unless you are going through or went through this WSL process and the life of obesity that proceeded, you just don't get how important every second lost waiting is. Any delay is devistating.
