New thoughts

Nothing new to report on the weight loss side of things. Still waiting there.
But I did have a fun-filled ER visit last night. I suffer from venous insufficiency - the blood does not flow properly between my heart and legs. I wear compression socks daily, but occassionally still get pitting edema. I was also hit by a car in November of 2007. I have serious soft tissue damage done to my left knee as a result. I have been in physio/massage therapy since the accident and am still waiting to see an ortho. I wear a brace daily and walk with a cane when I'm outside. Both conditions will undoubtedly improve with weight loss. But until then, there isn't much I can do but wait to see the specialist.
This was a really bad week for swelling in my leg - both the knee and the edema. I went for massage therapy last night and they took one look at my leg and said we aren't treating you tonight, you need to go to the hospital. They were afraid I had clots and that massage would dislodge them sending them to my lung or heart. So I went to the ER. At least I was seen quickly. Turns out the same doc was on who was working the night I got hit by the car. She's very nice. They did some tests and everything came back okay. So they are 97% certain I don't have clots. Told me to take today off work and rest and elevate. Increased my Ibuprofen to 2400 mgs a day. Told me to see my doc next week and return if I get any worse.
After a day, pretty much spent in bed, my leg does look better. Still some pitting edema but not nearly as bad as yesterday. So I suspect it will settle over the weekend. And, I will just continue to wait to see specialists so I can get it dealt with.
That's my news for the day.

So... one of the articles said to find a new hobby ... looks like you did while resting in your comfy chair, sipping your water, cruising the web until all is healed... LOL.

Think they came from the same site about the hair loss I posted a couple days ago - lots of info there.

I may have to post some information about the DS so that there would be equal opportunity for any newbies to check out all the wls types!

Ok Charline, you have outdone yourself....and everyone else !  LOL.  I'm a slow reader so give me some time to catch up.  You need a different hobby like machine embroidery, quilting, sewing, etc.  I'm never home anymore.  Lots of pretty stuff though.

Sweet dreams !
