In the dumps......

I just received my call from the hospital wanting me to come down Wednesday (Feb 25) for my preop test and my surgery is scheduled for March 20th.  Great news huh????

Well I'm in the dumps because I had to cancel that appointment.  A few months back (before all my appointments started happening) I made plans to go away the weekend of March 20-22/09. I prepaid and everything NOT expecting all this to go so fast.  I was actually shocked to receive a call this soon.

So with a heavy heart I told them I had to pass BUT I spoke with Natalie at Dr B's office and she told me that even though my name goes back on the list, I will have surgery in April, so if thats the case, waiting another month won't be so bad.  I just feel really bad because I've been waiting so long for this to happen and I had to reschedule

Don't feel too bad Jenn. Things happen for a reason. You had the time already planned so postponing it was the only thing to do. One consolation is you won't have to worry about weather in April. Always something good.

I'm waiting for two different surgeries. At this point I'm sure they'll both get booked at the same time. What is it they say about Murphy's Law? Enjoy your trip. You'll have your surgery in April when the weather is much better for convalescing.

 Jenn, sorry to hear that you had to postpone - I'm sure your must be disappointed.   However,  they told me when they gave me my appointment to sign my consent that I would be done in April or May... maaaybe we will be there together!  Slim chance, but never the less a chance.

Look at it this way, you made someone else's day.  Besides April is a much nicer month to recuperate.  (Easy for me to say, with my surgery tomorrow. I would feel the same as you do!)

Oh Jenn, that's too bad but it may be for the best. You obviously are suppose to go away and have fun before the big life changing day. Enjoy your trip. April isn't that far away (although with all this snow it seems like an eternity). After all this wait, another month is nothing. It'll be done before you know it. Starr

I know its hard - I missed my first date too and had to wait another month... went from a May surgery date to end of June and then got called early and they only gave me a weeks notice for the June 10th date- so I didnt get to have my two week freak! lol

I do truly believe that everything happens for a reason and you are obviously supposed to go on your trip and have a spring surgery - like a chicky comin out of your egg - you will start your journey in perfect timing.

In the end hon 4-5 weeks wont make a big difference - the point is you are this close.....

So make the very most of your trip you are meant to go. Enjoy

I will try to enjoy my time before surgery and hope that they call me again really soon!!!!
