1 week pre surgery appointment.

The good news is my surgery is on track for next week. I am very disappointed that I am only down 3 pounds.  My scales say that I am down more than that. Last time my scales had me down 1 pound, but I was down 7 pounds. This time my scales have me down 8 pounds and I am down 3 pounds. What is with this? I am physically showing more than 3 pounds weight drop. I can wear my engagement ring for the first time in many years, I just took my socks off by crossing my legs- I haven't reached my socks while seated in a chair in a long long time. I usually take socks off by using the carpet to pull them off!....my DH comes in handy too, LOL   To continue my rant, my waist is an inch smaller that last week, my bras are suddenly bigger, my undies fit better, my calves have reintroduced themselves. That all takes more than 3 pounds!!?!

My, my Charline, you certainly listed alot of NSV. I wouldn't worry about what the scales say, your body is saying much, much, more. You go girl, keep on your road to success and we are here to cheer you on.

Hey,

3 pounds is still 3 pounds!  Imagine 3 blocks of butter on your counter ... not picture them smeared all over your body - that is gone baby!

Perhaps you are retaining a bit of water from the drive, or need to .  Just keep up the good work as you are seeing lots of life changing results ... however, how are we suppose to flirt with the young guys if you can fit your rings now?!

Love the socks ... my four year old now automatically takes off my socks or knee highs, lol.  My scale number hasn't really changed much but am noticing that my underwear and bras are looser ... one pair of pants started to slip down while I was working in the nursery at Preschool last Wed - good thing the kids are too young to notice, lol.  Could get interesting if my surgery is not for a few more months as I refuse to spend any $$ on "big" clothes so my boobies better keep from flopping out!    the kids would need couselling!

Hang tough ... the hours are ticking away ...

I certainly don't need !!!  The MediTrim has the opposite effect on me!!  I  was worried that I was going to myself out of existance!!

I may be retaining water. After all, this quite the shock to the body. I may need to step up the mild exercise, too. My BP has taken a dramatic drop too. I was something like 120/60 today.

Hey now Charline, do you remember me? I lost a whole 2.8 pounds for the entire 2 weeks. But, I lost 4 inches off my butt, hips and boobs.I'm sure I lost size everywhere just not pounds. I'm sure you nwill be the same way. Sucks though seeing people lose 10 or 12 punds when you don't cheat and stil nly lose a couple of pounds.

I think that any downward change is awesome!  I think you're too hard on yourself (or yourselves because I know more than one of you think it's depressing when we look forward to a big loss and don't see it).

The important thing is to focus on the *good* changes...

You've got more room in your clothes!

You've gone down in weight-no matter how little or how much!

You're dedicated to a new YOU!

Your surgery is on track!!!!!

It's extremely important to focus on the good stuff because it's what you've been waiting for all this time.  Patience is a virtue and rewards are coming, matter of fact..you're already seeing them!

Cat, Maggie, Charline, and Patsy,
You are all right and I appreciate all of your support. My mistake was in hoping for the scale to say I was down close to10 pounds (my scale had me down 8 or 9 pounds) and having my heart set on that outcome. I was so disappointed and of course I didn't think I had earned the disappointment. I know that the fat those pounds represent is gone. I could list even more NSVs, but it is that darn scale psychology....bites you in the butt every time!  Hey, I should have told my daughter to get her degree in the psychology of the scale instead of evolutionary and biological psychology....at least I would know what she studied!!  Like I had any say in the matter!!
