Bad news on Dr S

I had my appointment with Rinette today, She told me that 4 nurses were down to the Dumont for training. The nurses said that the earliest that the Bathurst clinic will be open is April. Rinette didn't tell me what the delay is. The nurses don't even which of them will be in the clinic and which will be on the surgical floor or the OR.  It is at least some information, but not the good news we were hoping for. I wonder if it just construction delays. that seems to be the most likely thing.

I don't see this as bad news in the slightest! Just the timeline I was told, and even if it turns out to be June, or July, it's all good. Looks like they're working away. It's some info. anyway. Thanks, Charline!

You know that's not really bad news. I hate hate hate the month of april due to astrology because i'm weird like that, but honestly could be worst.

I'm just happy the clinic is still on it's way really and that they are training with Dr.B's staff.

Thanks so much Charline...I was getting scared the whole thing had been cancelled in Bathurst. Waiting sucks but a few more months is not so bad.

I guess bad news was too strong a word. I felt disappointment (for my friends here) when I heard that April would be the earliest date- it  sounded that later would not be a surprise either. , I didn't think about it  as a confirmation  that the clinic is indeed coming.  When compared  to waiting 5 years, it's not a big deal. The uncertainty is worse than waiting a few months. This news does reduce the uncertainty.
Rinette also told me that the NUT in Bathurst has been corresponding with her since before Dr S returned to NB for information on bariatric nutrition.

Oh i forgot to tell everyone that Lise (as well as Mrs Dr B) is training to do fills.

I am amazed at the great attitude the Dr. S. patients have.  And Cat is right - 7 weeks is a good sprint for you to work on being in the best shape you can be for your next appointment/procedure.  If your nurses were training with the girls at the Georges Dumont, they will be really great.  I am excited for all of you.  It won't be long and we will all be over here on the losers bench.

Call it the February doldrums, but April is spring! When Rinette said April, it seemed to be forever away, but 7 weeks!! That's nothing!
I need to go to my happy place more often, so I can be more positive!

This would likely work out better for me anyway.

Lee, my hubby, is having surgery 2 weeks from yesterday - when it was scheduled I thought, great we both could be laid up at the same time!  He is having 1 hand done for carpal tunnel with 6 weeks off and then the other done for another 6 weeks off (second time around for this procedure on both hands.  In fact he has so much nerve damage the technition couldn't believe it - his arm was "smoking" because the electricity machine was at the max and he still didn't feel anything!)

So, if my surgery is sometime in May he should still be off (rather than have to take holidays) and could either watch the kids or stay in Bathurst to keep me company.

After my hospital stay I plan to stay at my moms for recovery.  If it is warmer weather we may then do the recuperation at the cottage ... although the internet connection is weak there and I may go into withdrawal!  If Lee is still off he can watch the kids.

Things will work out in the end.  Just have to keep patient and preparing for this life changing event in God's time.  I may not be able to travel with Deb to the Chicago OH event this year but at least in the warmer weather it will be easier to go for a walk and not worry about slipping on any ice.

As Maggie says, look for the positve!
