Does anyone know if the Dr's have pamphlets?
Hi friends
Do any of you know if either Dr S or Dr B have pamphlets or information to fax or mail on the procedures they do? My husband wants to get a referral from his family Doctor however it is a clinic doctor and he said hes never heard of either Dr B or Dr S and needs more information on them to even consider a referral. My husband has been a diabetic for years and is having issues with faty deposits on his liver currently so he needs some help, Any suggestions?
Thanks so much

I would suggest your hubby does alot of research on WLS in general and prints out a file folder of information. Medical studies would be good.
And explains it to his family Dr. and especially studies on WLs and Diabiates as there is alot of info on that I believe. I had Fatty Liver issues as well, I was told after my surgery anyway..and have never had any further problems...so not sure if I still have fatty liver or not.
Then try to find some research on the backgrounds of Dr. S and Dr. B. The fact that they are authorised by NB medicare should be enough for a Family Dr. And they are specilists in this field.
Family Doctors are starting to buy into WLs and sending more and more patients. I don't have much for suggestions, but I know people who have to convience their family dr. first...go armed with as many details as possible.
Good Luck..and the research queens-kings here can probably help you with find some good studies and info to print out.

What might help a Dr. is to print the list of Studies for WLs...like in the first link and highlight those that touch on fatty liver or Diabiates...or any other condition your hubby has. Especially studies in last couple of years.
The more your husband brings to the table the more your Dr. will see you are knowledgable and be aware there are alot of facts out ther ehe can look up. Many Family Doctors are not sure about this process, until after they have a success story in their clients to look to. Your Hubby can be that First Success story!! :)
