Just got back from last weigh in

I just got back from my last pre-op weigh in. I weighed 252.43. My last weigh in last week was 253.75. So I JUST lost weight. Almost did not lose weight at all. I don't understand. On Monday I was 254 or something and all week no food just slimfast and water and I lost only 2 pounds.

It may be that I am full of poop. Never underestimate the sheer joy of a good poop. I haven't had one since Monday night. I take 2 teaspoons of benefiber 2 times a day as directed but nothing. Yesterday afternoon I took 2 exlax with no results. Tell you I am full of it.  Today I feel awful. My head aches, my stomach feels bad and my guts feel full and rumbley. I stopped in the pharmacy on the way home and picked up a fleet. That should blast it out. If not, T.N.T. is next.

Met Lize today. She's a sweetheart too.

6 more days. Almost there. Just don't get a cold now.

What did the girls say about your low weight loss? I hope they believed you when you told them that you have stuck to the program 100%.  I know that you have been a good girl, so this just doesn't make sense. Could you be retaining fluid? Do you take a diuretic? Were you wearing heavy clothing today or were you nude at the last weigh-in? LOL

Good God charline, if I showed up there nude once they stopped laughing, I'd be carted off to the nearest jail for causing a riot. LOL.  No actually I wear the exact same outfit, right down too the same underwear, everytime I go up for a weigh in. Sounds stupid but that way I know the clothes are the same weight. Told you I was obsessed with weight.

I think the problem, other than poo, was that I had been staying in the house for fear of catching a cold or some other god awful disease just before surgery. I figured if I stayed out of the malls, I'd be safe. I hadn't counted on lack of exercise to help bung me up.

No matter, I made it. Surgery is this Thursday barring famine (maybe mine), flood or a cold.

Lize asked if I was sure I hadn't eaten anything. OMG, if she had come to this site and hear me complain and whine about starving all week she would have believed me. LOL

No matter what, get that poop moving now and I mean NOW.  Trust me if you wait much longer you will suffer untold agony making surgery seem like floating on an air mattress down a lazy river.  I made the mistake of not making sure I was empty before surgery and afterwards you just don't have the food intake or the strength for a while and you end up constipated.  So to avoid 36 hours in the "can man" praying for sweet relief, using suppositories and enemas and who knows what else that I will not share in public, you better "evacuate" as soon as humanly possible.

I know you have followed the liquid diet plan but this not going since Monday will surprise you as to how much weight you are carrying.  Increase your water by 2 to 3 times since it it possible that you just are dehydrated causing you to retain fluid, hardening your stool and making things uncomfortable.  I find some of the meal replacements very high in sodium so that might be a factor as well.  I mean it drink water, lots of it (mind you dont over do water cause you can indeed drink too much).

I will keep good thoughts for you for the next day or so in hopes that you will get some relief.  I have so been where you are and I am really worried.  Take care, feel better and keep us up to speed on how things "go".

Hang in there Maggie you are half way there - but do take Ann seriously - I had the same problem post op and thought that surgery had been a walk in the park compared to the constipation and no bms - I could not believe how a person eating so little could have that much backed up........ 3 fleet enemas and nothing - it was beyond agony. I had to have medical intervention in the ER not fun .....

I should have known to be more careful because after my daughter the same thing happened- I had a section and I wasnt doing very well - I had some problems and no one asked at the hospital about any bm's- they never gave me anything not even the VON when they came by to chk on my stitches did anyone give me a heads up - so have you pooped -

I went 10 days and then although I may have had a c section to deliver my daughter - I had just as much pain if not more than a vaginal delivery when I finally tried to push this larger than a baseball bunch of crap out......... I did so much dammage to my rectum and actually to go into the ER cause of the pain in my incision.

So dont let pooping go and remember this for post op too - sorry if its tmi for anyone but you will thank Ann and I later believe me.....

Pooping is now a big priority in my life - I have to be vigilant with fibre or I get into trouble quite quickly- my husband laughs cause I am always telling him I pooped today - today was a good day!!

Have a great weekend,
deb

I really feel they don't emphasize this enough at the info sessions, when you are talking to the nurses at the clinic or with Rinette.  Fiber, fiber, fiber and water water water and if you don't have a BM today start worrying and increase all of the above.  I too am now vigilant in my pursuit of a good c#@p.  Sorry its TMI again but this is a real issue in my books.

Hang in there and get rid of it now.  I, unlike Deb, did not get medical intervention - I just pooped a baseball and thought I had torn myself half way up my back.  No fun, not funny and sure as heck not somewhere I want to go again - ever.

Got a Fleet with no results other than gas so went back to pharmacy and snagged a pharamasist. I tod him the problem and told him all remmanents of laxitive must be totally gone by Wednesday. He came down the asile with me and picked out Ducolax. He said it was harsher than exlax but would definately work. I came home last night and following his advice took 3 pills and went to be. This am got up and had my coffee and lo and behold, it started working. The relief is a godsend. I've gone 3 times now and I'm sure there is still more to come. So far my weight has dropped 1 pound too. Like I said ther is still more to come. By the end of today I might be down 150 pounds. LOL

I take benefiber twice a day and drink 2 liters of water or more a day. What else can a soul do to prevent constipation?  I think it is due to such a shocking decrease in volume of food. Any ideas to prevent the dreaded poop stuck?
