As the  new leader n our TOPS group, it was necessary for me to get familiar with the TOPS rules and regs. Well, lo and behold, there it was section for surgical weight loss. So, that means, I can be truthful to my group and alieviate my guilt. I still qualify for any prizes and awards, (except Queen status) I will feel like a Queen on my own, Thanks. Anyway this is good new for us who need surgery. A safe weight loss program where we can get support and get weighed once a week and stay on program. I am totally pleased.  Yeah for us.....not sure what the rules are for other weight loss groups but T.O.P.S. rules.

Cheers, Sugarbear

I go to Simply for Life, and I haven't said anything to my consultant until this week. I was afraid she would automatically try to talk me out of it. She didn't! She said that she trusted me to research and make my own decision, and if that's what I decided, she would work with me. I will continue to get weighed up until my surgery, then take a 10 week 'leave of absence' she called it. Then after that, I'll continue and follow the program as much as I can, while sticking to Rinette's guidelines. It's basically good cards earlier in the day, and lots of protein and veggies.
Weight lost since surgery (Oct. 1, 2009): 47 lbs
