NSVs

Hi all,

I have some more NSVs to share.

1.  I cannot wear a thing that I wore on last year's trip.  I have given every bit of my cruise wear to my best friend who is travelling with us and a lot of it fits her so she does not have to do much shopping at all.  She is not offended and she had some things from a couple of years ago (when she was thinner) that are still in style that fit me.  We had a nice fashion show trying on each other's things and sharing them.  Lots of giggles and lots of fun.
2.  Yesterday we went shopping to Moncton.  We hit Pennington's, Addition Elle and Reitman's.  I have not shopped at Reitman's in years and years.  I found a few things at each place but at Reitman's I found something I never dreamed of finding  - well at least not yet- a pair of black dress pants in a size 18!!! Remember when I said I wanted to wear an 18 which is considered a "regular size" and I wanted to be "regular"?  Well I did it!!! At Addition Elle, the size 20 were too big but they didn't have anything smaller in that style.  At Pennington's I was kind of discouraged because I am not crazy about this years colors.  But at Reitman's - SIZE FLIPPIN' 18   WHOOT!!!  I was wearing a size 24 on the day of surgery.  Wow!
3.  Again I met someone who had not seen me since mid November.  The shock on his face was priceless.  I got a nice warm hug and he whispered in my ear - "you look amazing".  That's it, I have had the best weekend, the best month, the best 8 weeks.  If I don't have another NSV for the rest of the year  - oh well - I can live with that - cause this past weekend was so cool.
4.  (and most important) The first thing I thought of doing after all this happened, the first thing that popped into my head was  - I gotta go type this to the guys on O.H.  To know that I can come here and share this with everyone is just so nice.  I have found such a wonderful circle of friends on this forum and I wanted to share these NSVs with all of you.

Its all good, life is just plain good,
Ann

Wow - so proud of you and yes it does feel good to be able to shop in Reitmans again ..... like you said before their plus sizes are like Sears and not like the bigger roomier sizes at Penningtons and Addition-Elle.

I dont know if I told you about my huge Reitmans bargain I got just after Christmas - black chords which I would never have considered before on my butt - but they were under $3.00........ new - not used at a 2nd hand store they were hanging on the sale rack in the Reitmans store - I bought them cause they were on the regular side of the store and if I wear them once I got my money out of them..... and will pass them on - maybe they will become the travelling pants of O.H.

When do you leave for your cruise ?

I am trying to put off buying clothes for our trip to Arizona in March (we leave Feb 28th) cause everything I buy to much ahead of time then has to be altered - so because I am still losing I am trying to figure out when to buy even clothes that I bought in December are way to big now -........ we go to a black tie event while on this vacation (the 2nd week in Scottsdale is a conference for my husband ) this is the first year in 10 years of going to them I cant wait to get my fancy girl party gown!

Life is good

hugs
Deb

My weight loss has slowed down for now - needing a fill - so I am okay with making a few purchases at this time.  I am buying things that fit me perfectly now so that if I do lose they will only be a little loose and if I gain (heaven forbid) they will just be a little snug.

We fly out on the 23rd of Feb and sail on the 27th.  I am hoping to pull together enough of a wardrobe to be fashionable and feel good in my clothing.  We have 3 formal evenings over the 14 day cruise and I am really looking forward to putting on the warpaint and dressing up.

Don't you just love the bargains? I have been so used to paying an arm and a leg for clothing for so long to find a bargain would be, well, downright amazing.

Thanks for your comments Deb and have a great time in Arizona.  My brother in law and his wife were there last year and loved it.

Wow. I am amazed by how well you have done in just 8 weeks. I am praying to be so lucky.  Size 18! That sounds so wonderful.
I had the same reaction as you did, re typing to the gals here. In fact, I told the gals here first. then I told my DH. I appreciate you gals so much. Thanks for always being there for me.

The reason I have done so well and am in an 18 instead of a 24 in just 8 short weeks?  I always lose off my a$$ first.

I hear you. I too am "wide across he rump". I am so proud of you Ann. I too am looking forward to shopping anywhere but Penningtons. Not that I don't appreciate Penningtons (I do) but I'll be glad when I don't have to shop there. The last time I bought size pants it was size 32 and we are not talking inches. Size 32. My tops are size 6x. I can't wait  to buy regular clothes. I'm even looking forward to buying clothes at Value Village. I haven't even been able to buy clothes there either. Nothing fits.

My Goodness, Ann, you are just so funny! I so enjoy reading anything you write as you put your heart and soul into all of your words. These NSV are so wonderful. That was our theme at TOPS last night. You know, when you get caught up in the numbers you can't see the forest for the trees. That is what happens at class sometime. It is time to celebrate all that is good about weight loss not just the numbers. You have had such an amazing journey so far and you appreciate everything that is happening and changing with you.  You make me feel so positive about my journey.  I just cannot wait to check into this site everyday. I think I am addicted actually. I am a Coronation Street fan and most days I go on their site to see what is upcoming. Lately I find that I am more interested in the OH site to see what is happening with all of you folks. You all make my day and I appreciate my cyber buddies so much. Thanks for  being here. Absolutely Congratulations on your awesome succcess.  Love you all. Sugarbear
