help with avatar

I need some help. I uploaded a couple of pics but apparently they are too big to use as my avatar. I cannot determine how to take and/or upload a small enough size to add it as an avatar. Can you guys help? I'm a bit computer illiterate as well. Thanks, Starr

I used a site to shink the picture, I think it was called "shink my pics" (all one work ) or some variation of that. I think you can also shink a picturw by e-mailing it to yourself and down load the e-mail version. I hope that helps.
