Hi everyone,

I have been looking for some medic alert bracelets wholesale as I'd like to incorporate them into my engraving process.

I'm just curious as to what I would engrave for people who have had weight loss surgery.

Any suggestions?

Oh and Ann, I'll be getting some sooner than I thought, probably within the next couple of weeks.  DH thought it was a great idea.

Thanks,
Charline

I have no idea...i asked Lise about one at the time i was going through it and she said it was not necessary, so i didn't pursue it any further.  I'm not sure if people wear them for WLS or not.  I'm curious now.

I am interested and was wondering if you are able to get in the ones that you attach to bead bracelets

this is just one website I saw them on -  I think they are so cool and you can the wear all types of of bracelets just switch the tag to each one.

I would love to create some bracelets at our local Bead Pod - havent made jewellry before but this would be more my style and I think its a funky way to wear a medical alert bracelet- they do suggest it after RNY.

If you chk out the official med alert sites etc they show you lots of ways to word your surgery type.

Keep me posted if you are able to get these type of medical alert tags cause I will certainly order from you.

Good luck
Deb

I am searching and  have left messages at a few places.  I'm trying to find a Canadian supplier if possible so I can save myself the trouble of trying to clear customs.

I will certainly keep you posted.

Thanks so much!

My understanding is that WLS patients need a medic-alert in case someone have to put a tube down their stomach.

Charline- let us know when you get them. I was just about to order one.

I was telling my DH about the medic alert bracelets and he said something that I thought I should mention.  Most of us aren't telling many people about our surgery.  If we wear a bracelet with the surgery engraved on it, people could see that and figure it out.  Not sure I want to put it in print on me.  Just a thought.

That's a good point too...

I'll look to see if there's anything else that could be used...

I agree with what Patsy said. I don't want anyone but  4 people to know I'm having this surgery. Not something I'd want just anyone to now. I can't  think of a reason to have it on a medic alert bracelet. Paramedics (I was one) will not attempt to put a nasogastric tube into you. Maybe the medic alert bracelet could just say call medic alert for instructions or maybe say "no gastric tube". I would not wear one saying I had bypass. I wear one saying I have diabetes.
