Hey Everybody,
Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I've been lurking around doing some research about the lap band and thanks to a few very informative ladies that I have talked to on the phone I am starting to feel alot less stress and nervousness about the procedure.
My name is Jenn and I live in Fredericton. I had my first consultation with Dr. B on Dec 18/08 and I am scheduled for my info session on Jan.27/09. I can't wait to have my surgery and start working towards a newer and healthier me!!!!

Welcome Jenn. There are a few of you here that live in Freddy. The people here on this site are wonderful. Got a few waiters here too and of course waiters are impatient to have surgery. Most of us have been waiting quite awhile and when it starts to get close, I think the anxiety gets higher. There are quite a few people on here who have already had their bands or bypasses too and they have some really good information.

I recommended that she come on over and join us. Hope things all go well for you at your info session. Keep us all posted. You will be surprised just how many people will care about your progress.

Hi Jenn,
Research is the most important step in this wls journey. Our group here is very supportive and knowledgeable (although not medical experts). Glad you are more comfortable and out of "lurker-dome". Feel free to ask any questions and hope you can make our next meeting either in Fredericton or Moncton.

When I met with the good doctor (& so far it is unanimous that he is easy on the eyes), he told me I would have surgery by Christmas. I signed the consent on Dec 8, so I thought early January, but alas he wanted a report from a cardiologist first (he neglected to tell me). All this is to say that try not to stress about the "exactly" when, because few people seem to get surgery when they are told predicted!
