A Big Wow and OMG !!!
SO THIS IS A PRETTY BIG WOW FOR ME
http://images.obesityhelp.com/uploads/profile/783704/albums/66383/FotoFlexer_Photo.jpg
My hubby found a picture on our old camera and its from December 2007 - I never realized how big I had gotten - he said neither did he! LOL
Its pretty shocking as I dont have any other photos that I have seen at that size which even though I say my heighest weight was 292lbs- this shot makes me think I was even a lil higher - I wasnt doing the scale at that point - not until my doctor put me on it in Jan/Feb 2008.
Its only a year but seems a lifetime ago..... and the person in that picture is so unhappy and miserable- and it even shows the pain I was in- its a very revealing photo- all I can say is WOW !!
Guess I now have a before pic to show people who ask- I am still looking for my before pics that I had done for the surgeon where I am in the fat pants that I have saved.
Hugs
Deb
Looking at those photos now, it must seem like a lifetime ago. Really it was only a lttle over a year. WOW! That is amazing. Isn't that wonderful!!
I went out west in 2006 and I have photos of the trip. At the time I weighed 293 pounds. (At 5' 2'' tall that is very heavy) As I look at the photos, I can easily remember the pain on moving and the discomfort of trying to use public facilities and how much better that trip would have been if I hadn't been so heavy. I now weigh 257 and even if I had been this weight, it would have been a little easier.
Hopefully, this time next year, I, like you will be looking at photos and saying the same thing.

That is a big OMG and WOW Deb!!! The change in you is AMAZING!!!! You look like a totally different person. You can see how much happier you are. Your eyes shine and you can see contentment and pride all over your face.
I got hubby to take photos the day of surgery but I cannot for the life of me find them. I think they might have gotten erased from the memory card by mistake (unless I went and did it subconsciously on purpose, who knows). But if you go on my profile page you will see a "Before" shot not unlike yours. I had just returned from a walk in July at a vacation chalet that my son and his wife had rented on the Island. I remember the walk was excrutiating, the pain nearly unbearable but I was trying to just keep going and trying to keep a stiff upper lip. I was at my highest weight that day and so I will use that one as my before shot. When we got back to the chalet and I sat down, my husband took the photo and the look on my face shows that I was not hiding the pain or the embarassment or the self loathing one single bit.
Thanks for sharing your photo. It is inspiring to me. I hope to be able to post a before and after like yours in about a year's time.

Yes Ann, you have lost weight and your hair is much darker now (thought you were a strawberry blond based on the pic).
Charline, when I was looking over the posts my husband asked if you were the one sitting across from me at the meeting ... yes, I said, and he replied ... wow she has lost some weight too!
Deb, once again woohoo!

Thanks for noticing the weight loss Charline and Michelle.
Ya, I was a strawberry blonde, actually a red head with lots of blonde streaks. I used to be a hairdresser years ago and so my hair changes quite often. I am going on a cruise as you know and I might want to change it yet again. Maybe even this weekend, who knows!?
Charline you have lost weight too, I was struck by the fact that you did not resemble your avatar, I imagined you as a heavier person (I mean that in all the best ways and I hope you are not offended). You are doing great at this point - just think of how well you will do once you get your band.
I love this forum as I have said numerous times. I think everyone on this forum is just awesome. What a kind, caring and inspiring community. I am so proud to be a part of it all and so fortunate to have found all of you.

Thank you everyone.
Its weird my husband reminded me that my daughter had taken the photo and I was upset she wanted to take it but was trying to make the best out of it and I thought I was smiling and pulling it off - like I said I have never seen the photo - it was a huge AHHH HAAA moment for me.
It shows all my feelings that I felt at 5ft 3" almost 300lbs at 40 years of age- it is very odd that a young child took the picture and captured the pain, frustration and the state of poor health- and my unhappiness about my life.
Right now I do not know the woman in the picture - but I need to remember her and her pain so I hopefully never have to go thru it again - I dont want to walk in her shoes again.
Thanks for all your support
