I thought it might be fun for those who wish to share, what kind of work we do for a living...
I'm an administrative assistant for a Vice President with CIBC in downtown Halifax.  I've been with CIBC for almost 30 years.  I've done other roles in the bank, but never on the sales side.  that's it for me !!!  how about you???

Good idea Patsy!
I am an Administrative Services Assistant with the federal government.  I work at an undisclosed location.  I have to say it that way because the division of the federal government that I work for does not want us to put where we work or details about our work on forums or websites like FaceBook or MySpace etc.  Apparently it has something to do with the Privacy Act or something silly like that.  So that is all I am allowed to say.  Except that business that I am in deals with people who are paying a debt to society?

Ha! Ha! Ha! I work with people who are paying a debt to society too.  I am a social worker and the majority of my case load if with young offenders in open custody. The remainder of my cases are youth that are under the guardianship of the province. My clients are mostly older and finishing their education. I love working with teens and young adults. You thought I was crazy, and now you are sure, right?  LOL

Hopefully you can reach them before they get to my place of employment.  And no you are not crazy - you are special.  Not everyone can do what you do.

Well most of you know I've been laid off but I'm one of THOSE people that you never want to hear on the other end of the phone line....a collection specialist....

I say specialist because when you've actually ordered reposessions..you've pretty much heard every excuse and been called every name...

Now you know why I'm so evil...

Apparently there are no secure jobs in today's economic times.

I was the bookkeeper for an agency called Family & Community Support Services here in Alberta since 2001. I had my 55th birthday last November and retired and now do contract bookkeeping at home for several agencies.
I no longer have to drive when we have bad weather and I am enjoying my newfound freedom.

I want to do that.  Its storming here and I am dreading work in the morning.  I could do with some freedom like that.  I am 55 as well - so what the heck is wrong with this picture.

And CharlineMC - I have done collections in the past as well.  Takes someone special - which I wasn't - hard not to take the abuse personally sometimes.
