Christmas did not go so good from a DS point of view
Hi All,
I had a rough DS Christmas. Last year was a snap compared to this year. The biggest problem was not having my normal vitamins and getting run down. Then without my normal vits, them my bowel movements changed and got much runnier, then I got even more run down.
As for food...it might sound so easy when you can eat what you want, but when you feel tired...guess what...you don't want to eat. So I was really trying to eat when ever I went by food, and I don't think I did so well.
And to top it all off...I don't think I was drinking enough water. All in all a pretty self destructive Christmas.
I was up about 5 pounds...which happens to DSers who don't eat enough or drink enough water. We can not control our losses through eating..and I was reminded at Christmas just how powerless I am ... once I drop the sugar..there is not much else I can do but ensure I eat enough..that is a powerless situation and it was strange.
Anway...a good few weeks later, I have had one week of flu, and 2 weeks of full vitamins, and am eating enough and the right things...and am already feeling 100 percent better.
It was a very interesting time, now that I look back on it. The DS does have a mind of its own. It sure does. And I need to make sure that I never, ever run out of vits.
I just wanted to doc this for you Dsers out there. The time is past and I am fine now...but never understamate the DS need for food, nor vitamins!
Take CAre,
C

DS Surgery June 2006, Been fine every since. Weight stays the same. Rarely remember I had surgery.....except for the daily vitamins.
I am so sorry to hear that you have not been well. I am glad you are feeling better. Is this the first time you have run out of vitamins and reacted this way? I'm sure it's a lesson you won't forget anytime soon. It is good of you to share this. DS sounds so easy and it would be so easy to discount the down side as worth it. DS is not for everyone. I would not do well with it because I am not vigilant enough.
Welcome back!
Welcome back!
HI Charline..
Good question...is this the first time I have ran out of vits? And the answer is no . I run out all the time and it is no big deal in the past...but I swear to god I never will again.
In my defensive...what I mean is that when in Luxembourg I buy 3 tubs of Vite4life at a time, it does 3 months. During the final week or so I sometimes order Vits or on the day I run out, I go...ok..get vits. I order them from the UK..they send them by UPS or DHL and I have them in 1 or 2 days max. Hence not at all an issue to run dry.
What happened in Dec I thought...ok...head office is in US for vite4life. I will order from there and deliver to NB. I didn't get around to it..no biggie, they can come over night. So..the day I ran dry, I call them, and guess what. It was a Monday, they only send out the orders on Thursday and it takes 7 to 10 days to get them. The Thursday was the Thursday before@
