exercise is a curse
I can't seem to get back into the routine of Curves. I stopped going over xmas because it is located near my work and I was on vacation. Now my free membership expires next week and I figure if i can't get back in the habit while it's free, how am I going to do it if I pay and join?????
I have to get back on the exercise wagon.

I wish I could exercise. Everytime I exert myself I fall into fits of coughing which as you know can hurt that darned port incision like crazy. My weight loss is slowing down. I hope I am better next week so that I can get on the treadmill at least for a few minutes a day.
I sure would like to tell those people that think this is the easy way out what I think. I hate to exercise but I have to in order for this to work. I have to watch and weigh every morsel that goes in my mouth and I am still tied to the scales to a certain degree. Easy - I don't think so .

I feel the same ... lol ... as my Air Walker snarls at me in the living room lol
Plus Ann, you really do need to take it careful. I had that blasted cold/cough for 2 months before Christmas and it is very hard on your body. At one point I was worried about coughing so much/hard that I got a hernia - you would be even more at risk since so soon after your surgery.
It is sad that people think wls is the easy way out. We are choosing to use a tool that will assist our body in becoming better. So does anyone who wears glasses or a hearing aid to improve their sight/hearing get the same comment about "easy way out"? Not likely.
Take care

Thanks Michelle, I really like your comparison to glasses, hearing aid etc. That would make Lasik surgery the easy way out wouldn't it? Have surgery on your eyes so you don't have to wear glasses. You are right this is a tool that only helps. Currently I have nearly zero restriction. I am still losing weight simply because I am not allowing myself to eat like I did before. I weigh, measure and limit myself constantly. Nothing easy happening in this house these days.
I called the clinic about the coughing and they told me to use a cushion or to hold my midriff when I cough so that is what I do. The coughing has eased up some but I am still full of cold sniff snort croak. I will be glad to be clear of it.
The good news is my infected incision is nearly all better. Only a little scab left and it has stopped draining. It won't be long and I can get back to swimming again - my favourite form of exercise.
