I would love to meet you all too...and I would love to do some shopping...my birthday is coming up soon. LOL. It will depend on the weather for me too. I would also bring my hubby because I'm super shy and he isn't, if that's ok with everyone.

Definately OK!  Will be nice to meet both of you.  We are a friendly group and there is no pressure - you can talk, share, ask questions as you feel comfortable.

Thanks for the ideas...it's not that I don't want to bring him, but I don't want him to feel like he HAS to come.  He's been very supportive thus far but he isn't too keen on the malabsortion part of the DS so he's quite concerned about it.  He is mulling over the idea of coming to see the Dr with me if I ever get that consult but I'm trying to give him his space too...I don't want to wls talk him until he's completely bored or turned off to the idea.

Talk to everyone a bit later!

If your hubby is your primary support person, the person who will be there for you on the day of surgery and who will help you the first little bit after you get home from hospital the he really should be there with you for your consultation.  My husband came with me and read everything that I was given in terms of information from the clinic and was and is very knowledgable about what I have had done and what to expect.  He was absolutely wonderful as far as helping me, supporting me, letting me make my own decision etc.  He was worried about me but he is the kind of guy who believes what will be will be so he just let it be and dealt with things as they came along.  But he did feel it was important to him to go to the consultation, to show support to me and to learn all he could.

Hope to see you in Moncton if this meet doesn't get cancelled due to the ever changing wonderful winter weather.

Awesome everyone!!  Looking forward to getting together ...

Based on some of the responses it looks like the Sat Jan 17th would be the best  - for time let's go for 4pm so people can get their errands/shopping done etc.  Plus should be a bit quieter/less busy at most restaurants.

For a location - if you have a suggestion, please share.  My first thoughts (since we may have a couple little ones) were:

Pizza Delight 1208 Mountain Rd (across from the Sobeys/Zellers Mall) as it has a small playroom with a few tables so we would be not in the middle of the restaurant (some privacy).

McGinnis Landing in Crystal Palace, Dieppe with the kids rides, etc just outside the restaurant.

Here are the links to their menus - lots of variety since we will have people at different steps of different wls journeys.

If anyone has any major drawbacks or concerns or another suggestion please feel free to share.

Would be great for everyone to bring a presurgery picture (if you have not had your surgery yet then bring a current pic - not when you were in grade school, lolol.)

Details on topic later.
