Moncton area Meet

Hi everyone,

Since I won't be going to F'ton this month, (and missing my social support fix) was wondering if anyone in the Moncton area would like to get together either Sat 17th in the evening or Sunday 18th in the afternoon?

It would be open to anyone who has had wls, looking into wls or supporting someone with/having wls.  So please invite those that are not on this site, family and/or spouses too.

If interested, please let me know so we can look into a place - lots of options in the Johnnys coupon book, lol.  Or if I have enough time to clean, could have it at my place.

PS If anyone from out of town is in the area or wants to come please feel free - this is my option to Fredericton as not able to travel this month.  You can do some shopping at Costco if needed, lol.

Hey Michelle,

I would be interested in going to Moncton for a meet.  Is there anything I could do to help you with this?  I only live about 35 minutes away.  Let me know if there is enough interest.  I would love to just chat with like minded folks freely.  So many people don't know the whole truth about my surgery, a relaxed atmosphere would do me the world of good.  And I would love to meet some of the waiters, share our experience, support each other, encourage each other.  It would be nice to be able to go up to Freddy but in winter it makes me a titch nervous.  I am hoping to get to one of the meet ups though once the weather starts to get a bit better.  But a Moncton meet would be nice for starters.  Keep us posted if you get enough interest and let me know what I can do to help.

Ann, will you be bringing hubby too?  Would be nice for a "veteran" support person be on hand for our "waiters support people".

So far weather looks good but then again this is the Maritimes!

we would love to meet in Moncton.  We're flexible so whenever you wanna do it, let us know and we will be there.

It's not that we don't want to go to Freddy it's that it's a bit far in the winter... plus soon we will be traveling to Bathurst quite often so it would be better for us to stay here.

If Fredericton falls through, as it appears it is, I would definitely be interested. Of course, having just taken 7.5 hours to do a 5 hour drive, it definitely depends on the weather.

I would have to sleep during such a drive or be too stressed (which in turn would stress out hubby driving).

If it ends up snowing while we eat I have extra pillows, blankets and a sectional couch so you can always have a sleepover, lol.

Hey Michelle

I would like to come to a Moncton meeting and would be able to make it next weekend (17th/18th) whatever works for people.

My only problem would be if the weather goes nasty I will have to wait til another meeting. I will just come prepared to stay overnight with a friend of mine in case the weather gets ugly. It has been so unpredictable lately- I just have to worry about how the Cobequid Pass will be - I dont mind winter driving just not crazy about the pass.

If my sister is available I might bring her she lives in Pugwash so it would be kinda out of the way to bring her but she has been my info go to person for surgery - she is a nurse and explains so much to me- although she is not having WLS - she has battled extra pounds for years lose it gain it lose it gain it- just when you are almost 6 ft tall it just doesnt show up as much! LOL Yup she got the height- I am only 5ft 3 !!!!  She may or may not be available.

Let me know if I can bring anything once you get more feedback and if I can do anything for you on getting info ahead of time about any subject .

Can't wait to meet you all.

Hugs
Deb

Would be great to meet you both!  Pray for good weather (so far it looks good on the long range forecast).

I'm in for the 17th since my husband and I are taking the kids to get pictures taken.  You guys might have to deal with them unless I can ship them off to do something......any suggestions?
