A support group in January or not?

Perhaps my last post about the group meeting was too close to Christmas, but no one really answered my questions.......Here we go again......I propose we meet Saturday, January 17 @ 2:00.  If there are people interested, I can either try to book the community room at the Superstore or host it in my home.  Do folks have any suggestions re any activities?

I think I will pass this month, only because I have so much cold.  I have been coughing and wheezing and feeling yucky.  I would hate to pass this on to someone, then have them called for WLS and not be able to go.  But have a great meeting, and I hope to see you next month!

It's another 11 days until the meeting- take some zinc and maybe you will be well by then.

At the moment I would say that I am not coming up in Jan.  Pehaps it would be best to wait until the first week of Feb.

When I spoke with Superstore about their community room there was a $50 fee to use it so something to consider.  As I said previously I am not interested in meeting their dietition or cooking class when I could go local.

For a future meet we could have a clothing exchange, or even have it at each meeting as everyone is at different levels of loss.

Is there a hotel with a pool we could meet at - do some water exercises (hey Catherine have you learned enough from Merrilee or should we ask her?) and then meet in their restaurant or meeting room.  Those that cannot swim (remember that the majority of us are large so do not be bashful - plus will not be hard core exercise - more for fun) can meet us afterwards.

Or maybe discuss topics such as: goals - have to make them, achieve them etc.  Someone could talk about the importance of water/vitamins - what each does for your body.  Discuss what food means to us - earliest memories.  How do we handle stress - options to food.  Possibility of other addictions.

That's a least a few topics to consider.  Bring them on!

Live, Love, Laugh - Life is short so enjoy today!

At the risk of sounding sarcartic- did I say anything about the dietition or cooking class?  I thought that the community room was free. I am not interested in it if it isn't free. I also offered my home.
It looks like no one is interested this month.
