OK so now my curiousity is really piqued. You are doing great and I cannot wait to be in your shoes BUT you have to tell me why you were so ill 4 months post of and what was with the hair loss. I am curious because I hardly have hair now as it  is so what I am going to be faced with. I am actually scared now. Please, do tell. Thanks, Sugarbear

Hair loss is a side effect of any drastic weight loss. Sorry....BUT the good news is that it comes back.  It is caused by the hormone shift; same deal as after child birth.

Oh that is just great. I have male pattern baldness, as does my sister, so that means i likely will have to pick out a really nice wig.  It might be the only opportunity I ever get to have thick hair. Any good wig makers in your neck of the woods. LOL

Hi beaverblue,
I thought of you when I read that you should take a vitamin called biotin to reduce hair loss after surgery. I am no doctor so I am going to check this out before I buy or take anything. It was also recommended that you start taking it before surgery.
Hope this is helpful for you.

I gotta ask. Is there anything that you absolutely can not eat now and would you do it again or would you have lapband?

Deb K mentioned biotin to me so I looked it up. It is one of the vitimin B complex and you only need 30 mg's a day. If you take vitimin B complex 50 or 100 I think you should be ok I've been taking vitimin B 100 complex since my doctor advised me to take it in June to prevent depression because I was taking my calorie count so low. It really worked for me.
