I had a great xmas and it's not over yet.  We are having an open house on Sunday so lots to do to prepare for that.  Will be alot of fun though.  That's what we do...we invite people over and then it forces us to do housework !!!  Otherwise, I would rather be sewing, watching tv, or some other mind relaxing nothingness...Jay spoiled me as usual.  Got lots of nice things.  We did alot of visiting yesterday and today and now very very tired.  Off to bed soon and then up for weigh****chers and then MY HOUSEWORK !!!!!!!!!  I'll post my results tomorrow !!!

I had a good but not great Christmas. Christmas Eve was lonesome for me because 2 of my children are not home. My son is in Toronto with his girlfriend's family and my daughter and her new husband live in Scotland and could not come home. I didn't even go to church- a first in my life. I usually get nostalgic at Christmas mass- missing my late parents and 2 siblings. This year I knew I would go way beyond misty eyed and bawl out loud, so I stayed home and pretended it was just another night at home.  Christmas day was much happier. My two daughters, one son-in-law, 2 nephews,  and a  niece-in-law arrived and spent the day. Plus we spoke to the missing children several times through the day.  Considering we are making the transition from all our children being close to home and the realities of adult children- it was a good Christmas.
I loved all my presents. Everyone hit the mark exactly. We also had a wonderful supper together. I tried a couple of vegetable side dishes and made garlic potatoes, so a usual turkey supper was extra special.
