Greetings
Hi everyone,
It's Christmas Eve and I am just taking a few minutes from all the hustle and bustle to wish eveyone on this wonderful forum a very Merry Christmas or if you don't celebrate Christmas, Happy Holidays.
I am so glad I found this forum. It has been just grand to correspond with and share with so many nice people. I have made friends here, I have learned so much here and I have shared probably more than I needed to here. Always, people have rallied round to share, encourage and uplift just when I needed it most.
To all you "Bandsters In Waiting", I hope you have a great holiday filled with family, friends and joy and a little less food than previous years. It is not easy but we have to try to be working towards the banded life even during food filled holiday events. May you all find the strength to do so and the courage to stick to it. May you also manage to get through the wait time with ease and may the new year find you getting your call, signing your papers and having your surgery in no time at all.
To all the" Newly Banded", may we find the holiday meals less of a challenge and more of a triumph as we learn to live with this wonderful tool. May the chocolate and the festive foods have less of a hold on us and may we learn to see the holiday as less of a food event and more of an opportunity to enjoy the love and warmth of spending time with our families and friends.
To those "Experienced Bandsters", may you continue to succeed and live a strong and healthy life. May you continue to inspire us and to encourage us. We continue to look to you for advice and we are so fortunate that you have gone before us and can now share your knowledge.
As for me, I am doing well. Things are healing nicely and I am feeling stronger every day. I told my family doctor that I think part of my issues stem from the fact that I am 55 and I am no spring chicken. Plus I love to complain so its been quite an experience. Now that the staples are gone though, I feel like a new woman.
On the down side my oldest son will not be with us this year at Christmas for the first time ever in 34 years. He is a lineman and although he is stationed here in New Brunswick his crew has been down in Nova Scotia helping to get the power back up for all those people who have been without power this past week after the storm. Although he wants to be home with his wife and his family he knows his work is important and he will not be heading home until everyone has power. We will just have a second Christmas once he is safely home with us.
So to all of you, Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays. Have a great day and a great season.
Ann

Thank you Ann and I think your son is very strong and I admire all of your devotion during this time. Sometimes the spirit of Christmas is helping others.
We help a family of poor and I can't explain that feeling. The poor father has MS and is only 34. He had 2 children and divorced... she had 2 kids and divorced... now married, they have 2 kids on their own. 6 children and now he's sick. You NEVER know when it's going to be someone you love and change your life.
in a weird way, this was like my "last' supper. The reality is that I'm jealous that I'm not banded yet and I won't miss it.
This is going to be a FABULOUS year. Already planned a trip with my sister and her husband for next October... Victoria Secret, here I COME!! going to CALIFORNIA!!! one of my dreams. You may see my new slick body on the Price is Right!!!!
Take care all of my peeps and Merry Christmas
