Health update ... my mom is freaking on me .... sorry bit long vent

Most of you know that I have been battling that blasted cough, cold, flu whatever for about 6 weeks now.  As soon as I started feeling the cough in my chest last month I was into the doctor and on antibiotics, which did seem to help some (doctor checked my lungs first of Dec, they were clear, just a nagging cough).  However last week my sinuses got worse.  So went back to the doctor - now have sinus infection and bronchitis.

When I told my Mom what the pharmacist said to Lee when getting my $200 in prescriptions (1 major antibiotic and 2 puffers) she just about went through the roof!  Guess I am on the strongest stuff around and likely treating me for bronchial pneumonia.  If this treatment doesn't work next step will be admitting me to the hospital.

Yes I know this is serious.  But it not like I am sitting outside in my bikini and wet hair to bring this on.   I have made more soups, gargled with sal****er, doubled my vitamins (yes they have zinc, thanks Charline), always wearing a coat and eating lots of garlic, onions, red peppers and so many clementines that my pee is orange!!!

Anyway she keep going on and on about how serious this is and how I should not be doing anything except sleeping and taking my meds.  How my lungs are going to be scarred and to really get the doctor to do something if I am not better soon (a few years ago we had to really battle to get my tonsils out as they poisoned my whole body).  She kept saying how people can die from this and not to worry about getting ready for Christmas (our tree is not up yet, still a few things to buy, etc) because what good would it be if I was in the hospital.  I know she is worried .... but hey make me some chicken soup instead!!!

Anyway, please keep me and my family in your prayers that I kick this thing and be able to be healthy for Christmas and when I get the call for the next meeting and surgery.  At least my weight has not gone up as too tired to get any major groceries so the junk food is not coming in the house.  Plus Lee is on vacation this week so he is helping out with delivering my orders and helping with the meals and taking care of the kids = more nap time for me.

So take care all, will keep you updated.  Thanks for listening to me rant - I love my Mom and know she loves me and just worried.

Catherine - you are to keep quiet about this please.

DS Surgery June 2006,  Been fine every since.  Weight stays the same. Rarely remember I had surgery.....except for the daily vitamins.

Your mother is right about the rest and taking care of yourself;. The message is fine, but like many  Moms, she needs to work on her delivery! Is there someone who could give you a hand with the tree?

Thanks guys.  I am feeling better and have been napping alot between my puffer shots.  Had no desire to venture out in the storm!

Kids put up the tree and some decorations tonight.  Went pretty good - as a mom you learn to let go of some little things ... like the lights, rope and ornaments in more "bunches" then proper placements, LOL.  Plus enough tinsel to nearly cover everything!  They had fun and it looks more Christmasy here.
