Advice?
He told me the exact same thing. He will not do RNY on anyone with a BMI of less than 60 unless there is no alternative. It has nothing to do with age either. I'm only 41. He just believes whole heartedly that the band is every bit as effective with regular fills. For me, going for the fills seems like such an inconvenience but at the same time, the weight i've been carrying for 35 years is just as much as an inconvenience. I have 3 to 4 months before my surgery and I will use this time to try to change his mind but he was pretty adament when I saw him. The band seems to be working for all of you and that gives me some hope but I fear that maybe you are all more disciplined and have more will power than me. On a happier note, I have only had 6 cigarettes since monday when I would normally have had about 80 in that time, and although I took my puffer this morning, I had my first 2 days in 18 years when I did not need to take it. It's quite amazing what lack of nicotine does to your body. I had never experienced it before because i've been smoking since I was 10 and never went without it. Yay for me!!!!
That must have been you. It's funny because my hubby said that you were from Oromocto because he sees the man that was with you all the time. Funny. I am the one that sat directly across from you in wait room until you moved seats....funny...how was your drive home. Our's was pretty slow moving...When were you banded. When I was arguing the procedure with the Dr, he referred to you and said you've lost alot already and are doing fantastic. He didn't say your name or anything but said "the one that was just in ahead of me". It really is a small, small world.
