My weekly weigh in
I called Lise and Rinette on Friday and didn't reach either of them. I'm not losing any weight. I went to WW today and was up 1.8 lbs. HOW CAN THIS BE?????? I am doing everything right. Maybe not enough exercise but as far as dieting goes I should be losing NOT gaining. Prior to surgery on WW I was losing consistently. Now that I have a band and eat less, I'm gaining?????? go figure. I called Stephen in Fredericton on Friday also, he is going through the same as me. He was done 2 weeks prior to me. He just got a call on Nov 20 for his first fill on Dec 18. This means I probably won't get done until January. I should be up 10 lbs by then, at this rate. I NEED A FILL!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, that's my weekly update, sorry to say. Better luck next week,
Patsy

Have faith Pasy, your body is still healing and perhaps wondering what the hec* happened a few weeks ago! Keep on track and remember that we are all rooting for you
Plus look for other ways your body is getting better. Did you take measurements before the surgery and see a lost in inches? Are you able to get around easier - breathing better (less exertion), less pain, more mobile etc? There are more benefits than just weight loss - forget the scale for the moment and focus on some other wows!
Plus if you should be doing a little more exercise then do some but be careful and don't go overboard - listen to your body. Ask hubby to take a romantic stroll to look at the Christmas lights or just window shop at the mall.
Take care and hope you hear soon for a fill!

Patsy, I think you have to do more moving. Every day. Here I am on Optifast and I haven't lost an ounce in 3 days. But the pool was closed and I have been doing other things and have not gotten on the treadmill so I firmly believe that is what it is. Michelle is right, move even if it is a stroll around the neighbourhood or go to the mall and walk. I think Lise told me you have to move at least 30 minutes per day - every day for this to work.
Hang in there, I am sure things will change. Your body is still healing.
Ann.

Patsy, This is frustrating as ever, but I believe it to be normal.
I feel so blessed to have 1 best friend who is banded and two co-workers. They are all patients of Dr. B and so far they have all had different experiences:
My best friend- Surgery December 2005: My best friend says she has been restricted since the very beginning. She says for the first 2 years her fills lasted two months each. She is still getting fills as we speak but the Dr. says she only has one more left. She lost 140 pounds and currently sits at her ideal weight. She states she never went through "Bandster Hell"
My coworker #1- Surgery August 15th, 2008: My friend Mel had her surgery in August and only had her first fill on November 5th. She told me Dr. B was behind in his fills. Between the surgery and 1st fill, she gained 15 pounds. She was at the point where she was completely discouraged and she didn’t think the band would work for her. She had her 1st fill in early November and in the first week, she lost 8 pounds!
My coworker #2- Surgery September 16th, 2008: My friend Lisa had her surgery in September and right after her surgery she felt like she didn’t have a band in her at all. She could eat anything she could before and she was getting anxious cause Dr. B wasn’t calling for her 1st fill. She was not losing any weight so my best friend told that when it’s about fills, to be pro-active and call. She called and got her first fill on November 17th, 2008 (Dr. B wasn't in the office much in Nov). Since her fill she has lost a lot and you can tell. She doesn’t weight herself ever because she doesn’t want to concentrate on it. The only thing is that since last week she is starting to lose restriction and told me, she dosn't feel restricted anymore.
So everyone is different, you aren’t doing anything wrong Patsy and this period will pass. You’ll see! :)
