Hi Kim, Nice to meet you ~~~Lincoln ,is that up by Fredericton  ?  If so , I have 2 sisters that live up that way.
We are all so lucky that Dr.Savoie came to work here , or everyone would of had a long 5 year wait .....
My consultation with Dr.Savoie was ,October30/08  , he  is a very pleasant man , easy on the eyes       he listens when you talk to him  . He is attentive & answers all questions. I liked him
I have chosen LAPBAND , doctor also asks you why did you choose that one.   He agreed with me  & said it was a good surgery   BUT     he would have chosen the vertical B-pass. He said I would  a bigger weight loss ,made me wonder about having it  ,  it's more  invasive  I & getting to old .
What have you had done so far?   What Dr, did you go ? I am interested on your story too !!   Thanks for asking  & I know I will be hearing from you soon...Jessie

Hi Jessie,

Yes Lincoln is by Fredericton. I saw Dr. S Nov 20. I went to him thinking about Lapband. Then he explained DS to me so I am going for that one. I think it is the best choice for me. I also liked him a lot. I was worried about his training. However this group has put me at ease on this. I have been waiting for 3 years with Dr B and his receptionist told me another 5 years. I am so grateful for Dr S.

HELLO SHAKEGIRL ...
Well, I feel a bit better.I went to my own GP yesterday .She scribed   GABAPENTIN.....300MG , take one capsule once a day , for 3 days   THEN....increase to1 capsule, twice  a day for 3 days ....THEN increase 1 capusle TWICE A DAY , for 3 days ,,THEN...increase to 1 cap for 3 times a day...
And I think that she said take the morphine til they were gone . I really don' t think that the morphiine does much for the pain(first day or so). Now they only make me slow & stupid . If you have ever been on them , you will know what I mean.

Now, I will follow your journey  everyday , SO excited for you ,  How are doing on the shakes ?  Any  news on how you can fix them?
Hubby & I are going to have baked potatoes / STEAK/ veggies.    I have been wanting steak l.

Good Luck , Jessie

I hope you feel so much better soon Cat! *hugs*

Thanks for the info on the surgery - I was wondering if we had to go back up to Bathrust before the surgery. That would be so friggin' awesome if we didn't and could get all the pre-op tests done down here. Not that I mind going to Bathurst so much (because I get to visit my parents in campbellton) but it's jsut the cost and having to take time off from work.

Hello PN .  I am feeling a bit better ,still sleeping in a chair all night . I tried the bed again last night BUT no way , about 1 minute & I start to hurt real bad & gotta get up . I am gonna be all  humped over just like the chair . I don't know exactly what the new meds are for , I imagine for the pinched nerves. Can't  wait till  they start working . Read Messys note.

I am like you , I dont want to be running back & forth , its a long drive.  Hubby works shift work so if he is off. I have to then try & find someone to keep me company, that I dont mind knowing about the surgery, so that really narrows it down.   I want to keep this a secret ...(where I live)...if thats possible around here, in this town

Have a GREAT  WEEKEND
