Hi RealMessy,  you are doing GREAT. So your first week with the optifast went by real quick. One more to go .  I get so excited for the ones that are having their surgery.  Keep us informed , step by step. I am like you , I like to know everything I can know before I go .  I am at the phase of wating for a call from the hospital for the surgery date & all the ifo they give at the time also with the apnea results. I will get them tomorrow , I have an app with my own GP tomorrow .
Keep up the good work. I'm thinking about you all everyday.
Have a great  day.............................

Thanks Cat!  It seems like a long wait when its happening but looking back on how fast the time went from my consult on June 30 until now  - here I am heading to the OR on Tuesday next, WOW that was fast.  I have not had too many issues with the Optifast at all.  I am doing fine and pleased and proud of myself for not cheating and hanging in there.  I would be crazy if I said it was a cinch but I take it one day at a time one shake at a time and that is the only way I have managed to do so well.  Lise was very pleased yesterday when I met with her.  My weight was down and all my stats - blood pressure etc were great.  I cannot imagine my good fortune to be experiencing this  wonderful opportunity for health and a longer life.  Aside from having my family around me, this surgery will be my best Christmas present this year.

You can do this!!  One more week, and then your journey to health will begin!! (well I think that it starts during the optifast stage because if you can survive through that, you can survive through anything!)

Good luck, and hopefully this next week will fly by. and if not, I recommend some Nytols to sleep the week away.

Thanks for your encouragement.  I am doing just fine.  Fri, Sat, Sun and Monday and I am all done the Optifast and on to clear liquids after surgery. I am very proud of myself but I am also so grateful for everyone here on the forum who encourages me. That means a lot to me. Thanks again PN.

I am so excited for you to have your surgery...finally. I'm really hoping that everything goes real well and that you're not too sore afterwards. This is it, the moment you've worked up to. It's very exciting and scary at the same time. It is going to be wonderful for you. And I agree with the previous note, if you can go an entire week with only that drink, the rest will be a peice of cake...pardon the pun. LOL. Good luck to you. I will definatley be praying for you on Tuesday and as soon as you're well enough, you must let us know how it went. My thoughts are with you. Starr

Oh Thanks Starr,  How nice of you.  As soon as I am able to sit at my computer I will be posting something to let everyone know how it went and how I am feeling.  Start to finish has been about 5 years from the first time I discussed it with my family doctor and he referred me.  I had actually given up hope of ever seeing Dr. Beau.  Then all of a sudden from June til now its been moving so fast.  I will appreciate your prayers.  I have a busy weekend ahead of me, putting up the tree and finishing some last minute shopping etc.  But I have a funny feeling its going to feel like forever getting to Tuesday.
Thanks, again
Ann
