Well it's been a long time since I've been here..

Just wanted to let everyone know everything's great..It'll be two years since I had the gastric bypass surgery done in July. I've met his goal...and am a little below it now..but things have levelled off and it's now to the point where it's now the new eating habits and exercise that is making me lose, not necessarily the surgery.

I go down to the Georges Dumont Hospital on the 4th of December for blood work and to see the other doctor he has with him now..to set up an appointment with the plastic surgeon on his team to begin that process. I'm kind of excited but a bit scared of having to undergo more surgery but I signed up for that when I decided to go through with the surgery..

Welcome back Mistydreamer, I haven't seen you on here for a long time.  Sounds like you are doing wonderful. I am about to have my band surgery in the next  month or so.
We have a support group that meets on the first tuesday of the month in Fredericton. I usually organize it but I am away with my family.  It has been mentioned that we should have a meeting on a Saturday so out of towners could make it. The last 2 meetings were at a restaurant but we are looking for an alternative spot. Feel free to join us. Just check in here for all the details.
Hope you hang around bit.

HI there,

Congratulations on meeting your goal! :-)

Is plastics covered by NB medicare now, or am I just expecting too much? :-D

The tummy tuck and breast reduction/lift is covered by medicare and you can end up getting the thighs covered by medicare if you document health issues negating the need-like the loose skin causing rashes and irritation etc..The arms aren't covered though.

Thanks I met Dr. B's goal but I didn't reach my personal goal though;)

Wow! That's awesome news!! NB medicare has really changed since the last time I looked up any of these things. I just remember one woman's struggles to get plastics covered and NB wasn't going to pay for it - I think that this was back in 2004. She must have paved the way for them to get covered.  Am I ever glad that I came back to Canada. :-)

You'll get your to your personal goal!! :-)
