I completely understand what you mean - at first I was like "Open? EEK!!" but I'm finally getting my mind around it now.

Man, you must of been tired when you went back to work, especially after your long hospital stay. :-( Stupid question, but did you have to stay in a German hospital all that time? That must have been a bit langweilig (boring) when you don't have family there or when you don't know the language (or maybe you do :-) ). I know that had a couple of Ausrian hospital stays and I was ready to climb the walls after 2 days, so I can't even imagine 16 days. yikes!

The time was long...lets just say my DVD machine came in handy, although i found it was only after the first week that I had enough of an attention span to watch it.

and...let me assure you...if you have a leak...you just have to sit tight...healing...

ah.... the memories....it was a heat wave and the World cup in soccer was being hosted in Frankfurt.  You know...looking back...I could not even make up a story as bizarre as my hospital stay in the middle of the World cup.  Bit like getting WLS in middle of an Olympic city during Olympics!

And everyone there spoke English...and I do have a bit of German.
